Final mission of shuttle Discovery postponed until February

According to his Tweet, the launch is actually postponed until April, the next available window after february :(

"NASA RT @ShuttleCDRKelly Our launch date changed. Now 1 April 2011. Unfortunately no visit with my brother Scott @StationCDRKelly in space."

PARIS in 89,000 ft climax

Ya know he's not to far off with what's doable, a few physicists could help you with that ;)

Thumb Up

Brick or not...

This was an ambtious task, with only 50/50 success rate, if that, well done guys, and as said up there many times, a picture of the blackness of space showing the curvature of the earth made this all worth while.. and btw, oficially SPACE begins at 70,000 i think .. according to the USAF so err, well done for actually getting our brave iccle pilot into SPACE!

ACS:Law's mocking of 4chan could cost it £500k

Am i the only one wondering why such a company was using a Cpanel Server hosted outside their company for their internal emails? Any competent company would have a local mail server in house for internal email, from the emails ive seen ACS had 1 server for all, web based, and running cpanel .. incompetence at the highest level.

Anti-piracy lawyers' email database leaked after hack

Now now el reg lets get the facts right..

The emails were available publicly because acs law backed up to public_html.. not because the server was "hacked" as your title suggests.

Second piracy threat lawyers withstand DDoS attack

Clever little bastards

So ACS being slightly dumb backup their server to a tar file and woopsie 4chan have all their emails, quite interesting reading, while i dont agree with 4chans methods, it's nice to see ACS on the recieving end of this :D

More problems for Apple's top desktop

That was my thinking to, either way, there IS a problem with these screens, i'm happy to wait a little while to see if / when the issues are addressed before i purchase a new mac, although i have to say with this being my first personal purchase of a new mac (have used mac pros for a long time, and i have a nice gaming pc) i am somewhat put off by these issues, time will tell.

i'm almost an idiot then

I was about to order a 27" and noticed earlier that the delivery times had slipped by a further week, it would have been my first mac purchase, i think i'll hunt around for a 24" instead, these 27" screens are doomed!

Is Mandy right to cut science funding?

Weren't the government not so long ago trying to encourage more children, graduates etc to "get into science" yet they cut the budget so when they've spent all those years doing science degrees and PHd's there's no jobs in science in the U.K .. backwards? .. muppets
