Government has agreed to let him get medical treatment, but they should say "tough".
You broke our law by hiding in an embassy.
You hid in a building which perhaps doesn't have all the mod-cons like fresh air (but yeah, it's got bloody windows though), and even the ability to leave your domicile.
Who knows whether he's guilty or not, but so far, Sweden has never been fingered as a malicious or unfair country. And if anything, I would expect them to protect him more than the UK.
Jeez - just leave the embassy, get on the plane, and sort this out.

Brit retailers tell Amazon and Google to pay their taxes
Re: If the public were angry, they would not buy from internet multinationals
Do I like to get the cheapest price I can? - Yes
Do I want a high street? Yes
Would you prefer to shop in a high street over online? - Well... sometimes.
Would you stop using a company if they continued to avoid taxes? - Sure!... unless it's the company which gives me a wonderful mobile experience, or gives me a huge range of cheap products which are free to deliver. Everyone else - no problem.

Google, Amazon, Starbucks are 'immoral' and 'ridiculous' over UK tax
I guess the only solution is to favour tax paying establishments.
Perhaps only running deals with tax paying companies, or inviting them to the special meetings. Or even just the public choosing who to go to (Hmm... not that keen on not using Google, they're quite convenient... :( ) Ditto on Amazon too :(...

ReDigi fights for right to sell used digital music
If reDig win this, and I can't see it happening, they would be the global power in music purchases.
Why bother buying from iTunes, when you can buy "secondhand" from reDig?
Essentially an online CEX. And if the tunes aren't cheaper, then why bother buying from reDig?
Essentially this is the same as buying games second hand from CEX or similar. Games industry don't like it so they are modifying their platforms to prevent it.
If they win their case, iTunes will introduce the same functionality, and end up killing off reDig.

Goddam :( I've seen supermarkets with electric charge points, and so I thought we'd be seeing leccy cars within a year.
Sadly, it needs a company to mass produce, fail, and then a chinese company to come along, copy the idea, fix the problem, and then work. :(
Actually quite disappointed. I could never afford one, but was looking forward to something second hand ;(

Ah well - it won't be that way on consoles....
Er... Xbox, Batman: Arkham City - Catwoman "extension".. er... well... yes there was that.
Had a go at F2P Everquest recently. I played far too much years ago, and my characters were still alive, and so actually I had most of the functionality that was available. There was lots to buy though, and I wonder how much they truly affected game play.

Every website needs to either drastically improve their security (or 2 form authentication) or make it less strict.
I'm not going to risk my hard-learned security question answers and passwords to websites, if they keep losing them. I'd rather have a unique really simple password so when it's hacked I've not lost much.
Video shows armed assault on Kim Dotcom family home
Re: There used to be a time
That guy was probably crapping himself. Helicopters, people with guns, etc. A "subdued" security guard?
If I had one, I'd have my shotgun handy as well.
And WTF - loads of people in America have guns and do US cops storm a house first? Kim isn't going to pop a cap in the ass of someone who politely knocks on the front door, and ask if he would mind accompanying him to the station.
And why didn't they arrest him when he was out of the house?

Santander. Went to branch to add my wife to my bank account. Went shopping that night and had my card declined. Turned out they'd removed my overdraft (I never said I was good with my money), and so I couldn't buy any food.
Had to wait til the next day to get it reinstated, although they actually offered and gave me compensation.

There's going to be a lot of money in finding alternatives, either from mining in other countries, creating the minerals from scratch, or by finding alternatives to those minerals.

Sony, Samsung trade body to push HbbTV to Brits
Re: Dear TV makers
This is a good point. When I upgrade my PC, I can buy a new hard disk or graphics card, and it's only a small amount of my monthly salary. If I have to buy a whole new PC ~£800, that's a holiday somewhere or something very significant.
If they keep beefing up TVs (even though I do wish they'd integrate BluRay and PVR into a TV), they are going to be very difficult to purchase.
Unlesss.... Sky does to TV what mobile companies do for phones... sell the TV as part of the deal and add the cost to the monthly subscription...

Re: Weak passwords
I've seen a few low-importance sites that require a high security password. I keep a few high security passwords, and a couple low security. If I give one of my high-securities to a low-importance website, then I risk my important stuff being compromised.
If a low-importance website won't accept my low-security passwords, and it's not important enough for my high security - I don't register :(
BeThere earned my ire recently. I forgot my password on their website, so I had to reset. I tried to reset to my high security password and it forbid me from re-using my password! Like I'm going to make up yet another password just for them!
