Had to start up an old Win10 machine "for reasons". It starts doing a series of updates and one bit of the update needs to reboot while another update is still downloading. The restart message pops up a box saying something like:

"systemcore master-control-program prohibited by special services secret-double-probation mode in tron.dll". Ignore Y/N?

Almost all the Y2K issues I dealt with were people assuming the tm_year field was 2digit years and not "years since 1900" so a lot of code that printed 1/1/100 or 1/1/19100 come the new millennium

Except the Y2K bug was only a problem for financial systems etc which dealt with a date and year.

But how may SCADA systems are assuming that time_t always increases, and will do bad things if = measurement/(time_t - prev_time) returns negative, or NaN ?

Intel has a market cap of $125b so a $7bn 'investment' you would only be able to buy 5%.

But for the same money the government gets total control of the company and Intel no longer has to waste any of that cash actually building any fabs
