Yes but they were all poor and being prosecuted for terrorism/child abuse with lots of other evidence so no money to take it to a higher court and no public sympathy.
Good to get a lot of precedence set before you use it on journalists or human rights lawyers who might have the money and lawyers to take it further

Perhaps the navy could save money by keeping the fleet at anchor? If you were to put them at anchor somewhere secret you could save even more money. Incidentally, I have a fleet of aircraft carriers fully equipped with F35s held at a secret location for hire.

I understand that the RN now has more admirals than ships, surely the excess could be sold for a profit to some 3rd world nation who have a shortage of native gold braid?

It does demonstrate a flaw with the Eu in the way taxes are decided and collected.
eg. The Eu supports a French demand for a 100% import duty on wings to punish perfidious Albion, the money is paid to the French government when the wings arrive in Toulouse but the cost is paid by all the Airbus partners - making Germany and Spain subsidise France.
Or China could say "lovely aircraft and we would love to buy them if some major component, like say the wings, was built locally and I hear you are having some political difficulty with your other foreign wing supplier."
Of course the aviation industry has always been immune to this sort of pork-barrel politicing so no need to worry.

When you assume that gravity travels at the speed of light it all works out. Which was the reason for trying to measure a speed of light and was done succesfully pretty much at the end of Newton's life.
Relativity and classical electromagnetism (JCM got tantalizingly close to discovering special relativity if he hadn't died so young) only assume speed of light is constant for any observer in any frame of reference.
Admittedly it raises problems if it varies day-day but there is no problem with it being different in the early universe.

We used to buy macbooks for salesdroids because of the service.
If it breaks down in just about any major city in the world go into the Apple store, get them to fix/replace it and connect back to our sharepoint site and you are working again in an hour.
Now it takes longer to get a macbook fixed than it does for us to get a replacement Lenovo delivered to them and with Windows10 we don't need an IT guy to spend a day configuring it.
But with no keyboard feel you have to look to know if you pressed it, so it's no better than a taskbar icon.
If Apple had convertible laptop/tablets with QHD+ screens with full multitouch and Microsoft launched a laptop with a tiny little touchscreen below a dumb passive screen they would be ridiculed.

I bought Lenovo's MIIX surface pro clone: Mobile i7,8Gb/256Gb,keyboard cover for <$600 and an openbox Chromebook for $100
The chromebook sits there for web browsing and email notifications, the Lenovo does visual studio better than any previous laptop. For python/matlab it's indistinguishable from my desktop except for having awesome screen resolution. The folding keyboard cover, while better than the surface, sucks for typing other than coding
The problem is that even if you can make a system which is able to unlock the data without the original key and still be secure. Who do you give the backdoor to?
