Hard to see how a more bespoke deal is possible.
It's hard to see the ECJ saying: Dear German bank you can store data on your customers in the EU and be subject to all sorts of strict data protection rules - or store it in the UK with much looser rules and we will be perfectly OK with that.
It's hard to see why anyone would agree to the UK having looser health / safety / materials etc standards but being allowed equal access
To be fair it has always been crap.
Back in the early 80s when I did the newly created O-level computer studies it was about the difference between mainframe, mini and microcomputers and drawing flowcharts with stencils. Together with writing trivial programs in BBC basic. A-level was the same crap but using Pascal.
Degree course weren't much better - which is why everyone who has been working in the field for the last 30years did maths / physics or electrical-eng
Until you go to court how do you know it's illegal?
If you are asked to extend the ratio for 2nd gear so you can improve the advertised 0-60 time is that illegal?
If you throttle down the CPU when it is over heating is that illegal if it allows you to post a higher benchmark when the machine is first turned on ?
and you didn't need a crane to lift the novel off the coffee table.
I wonder how much of that is the market.
The golden age writers were in the magazine era, you had only a few pages to tell the story because even pulp printing was expensive
On the bookstore shelf today it doesn't look good value to be buying a 50page book for the same price as one 3 inches thick
Except of those 13,000 workers 10,000 are in construction.
And of those construction 'jobs' you count each contracted out person as a job everytime you use them. So every truck movement that closes a road counts the driver, operator, flaggers etc.
So the 10,000 construction jobs are more like 1000 FTE for 1 year.
Luckily those 3000 permanent jobs are all full time Apple product designers being paid $250,000/year - that way it will only take 60years to recoup the $1M for each job from state income tax.
Or another way of looking at it, every resident of the state just paid retail for an iPhone.

Now you just have to take out one network switch and the engine management system isn't able to connect to the license server for the maintenance log and so the engine shuts down
Or if you have everyone's DNA you select which sequence groups you match on to get a fit on your preferred suspect then go to court and have your pet expert witness claim that the 1 in a billion chance of a match implies that there is a 1 in a billion chance that the person is innocent.
The process is simplified if you contract out the DNA matching to a commercial lab and explain to them that the chance of their contract being renewed is proportional to the number of "correct" matches they find
