It's impossible to do a lot of the driving that autonomous vehicles could do without breaking the law. There is no way to deliver to almost all restaurants / bars / small shops in the city without parking illegally.

In countries where the autonomous driving companies own the president you will have exceptions. In more "free-capitalism" jurisdictions it's going to be trickier, do the local Police / gangs have a QR code on the side of the robot delivery truck to receive their bribe / payoff ?

They built this 20years ago in California for one of the DARPA challenge autonomous vehicle things.

Prof. Sebastian Thrun was explaining the problem was the traffic laws didn't have error conditions. If somebody was parked and to go around them meant crossing a solid line then the law said you had to wait there forever until it was clear, or if there was a stop sign and you couldn't see if the road was clear from the position of stop sign you were trapped.

That's fine you can just ignore them as they aren't duly authorised traffic officers under the Traffic Management Act 2004

It's OK because the hospital's non-AI computer system will lose the results for 50% of the scans, so even if you do have something wrong with you it's a coin toss if you will find out.
