now Web servers use linux

but I think the percentage of Linux uses is much higher than "stats" show its probably more in the region of 3-5% but most of these would be classed as Windows users because they dual boot

this is how it should be done the US have no right in trying to rule the internet ok fair enough they have the power to turn off the web domain servers which would cause some major problems but they don't own the network... i think more companies in battle with the us should just block US IPs ok theres millions of ways to get past it but thats not the point.

and if this keeps up it will soon be the great firewall of the US just in reverse

microsoft might have these patents as weapons against the whole of linux but so what they will take every distro to court and make them pay until there bankrupt but they will be back in a few months under a new name which MS will sue again...

and here a point you can't place a patent on a function just the code so as soon as there released to the public the whole of linux will just recode or find ways round it to solve the problem because not everything has to be done the same way. in the end the open source will win and might even casue an up rising against M$ a bit like the whole digg incident a few weeks back.

so all i can say is bring it on M$ we'll win it time for the real war to being between the penguin and the gate

the web was created to send messages from one place to another it has since evolved into something much greater and "evil" but yet it reflects the real world the world is evil what is the point in blocking it. fair enough parents won't want there children looking at some of these "evil sites" but that is what web filters are for but they should be set up by the user of the internet and not by the government.

Another point is that with the current state of the technology the internet is built on its not possible to censor the net because its government programmers vs home programmers or hackers (the original meaning not the evil hacker) its a bit like the sony vs homebrew sony will never win there firmware was too weak to begin with.

Also (from for going on) the internet is way to large for its own good and its time for some world laws to be set because using the internet on a regions laws is impossible because where is the client and where's the server?... if the net is based on region laws then you shouldn't be allowed to access anything outside that region. we need a world order for the internet a bit like the UN but not so pointless.
