UK implications
It will be interesting to read more about the case, and more in-depth reasoning behind the decision - apparently court documents will be available in the next few days. It is an interesting slant to argue about the anti-competitive behaviour of Nintendo rather than suppliers enabling greater copyright infringement.
In respect of UK law, supply of the cards is allegedly an infringement under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the Trade Marks Act 1994, according to someone at ELSPA at least.
It will be interesting if any such case is brought under UK law as to what any ruling would be. Amazon and e-bay have stopped selling the cards in recent months also I believe.
