The commentard confuses amp-hours (charge) with watt-seconds (energy). I agree that the amount of energy to complete a task is a far more useful metric than the peak power. But you need to multiply voltage by current by time to get energy, so why not just use the correct SI unit, which is joule.

That's their retail margin; they make most of their money on the wholesale markup, which isn't regulated. So don't feel too sorry for them. Still, politicians of all colours should be deeply ashamed of their disasterous energy policies. They've been hoodwinked by an unholy alliance of tree-huggers and capitalists. Unfortunately it's the rest of us who are paying the price.

RotaCyclic Nonsense

The abstract of the IBM paper (linked to in the article) clearly states that 100 GHz is a cutoff frequency. It isn't a switching rate, and you cannot compare it directly to a CPU clock.
