1). Unless you've only recently become a freelance journalist (entirely possible), you presumably had an old computer this Macbook replaced. Use that as your DR machine.
2). Your local library will have some PCs you can use.
3). Internet café?
4). Typewriter.
5). Pad of paper and pencil. You may need a pencil sharpener, don't say you weren't warned.
Had he not pleaded guilty to the speeding charges, I don't see how they could have convicted him. The evidence is purely circumstantial. He must have voluntarily shown the police his leathers & crash helmet, otherwise they would have needed a search warrant which I doubt they would have got for a traffic infringement.
