That you have to change the provider of your tv service for 1 mainstream channel and a couple of news channels. I have VM and I dont get sky 1...and? It primarily showed repeats of programs that are on other channels anyway and while I might miss the simpsons I really dont see the need to change providers for a single program. If thats whats happening, perhaps people should get a life. I run my life, not the TV.
The cable and phone are great and I have a second box... and as for cheaper than sky... not even close.. Im about £20 a month better off than I would be with sky.
PS. Now VM includes Santana, banana, NO 3 x Setanta channels Free rather than the £10 pm Sky want
T Mobile have something called web n walk which when you buy it as a datacard for a pc/laptop, not as an addon to your phone, you get 3GB.. yes 3GB per month for £29.. seems like a bargain to me. If you go over your limit (which for 3Gig is not easy) you dont get charged, you just get a little slap and are told not to be a naughty boy. I dont normally get anywhere near 3Gig! Its also HDPSA so you get 1.8mps broadband through it. I think its great value for money!
I agree with Adam that you have all mostly missed the point. He didnt get there via an email link, he went to the actual address. Im sure that all of us on here would never bother to follow this sort of link from an email (except to deliberately fill up the database with stupid numbers, answers etc) as we are all far to wary, regardless of the browser, os etc blah blah but if we actually typed in www.websiteofchoice.whatever we would therefore expect that we were on that site and probably wouldnt check the padlock, https etc because WE decided to visit it, we were NOT directed to it!! Out of all the people in the world.. I trust ME!!
There is a big difference between something thats illegal and something which needs to be censored, but that brings you onto freedom of speech.
I am an adult and its up to me what I read, look at or watch, not the government or the botherers out there who in probability havnt seen anything themselves but "have heard, apparently".
My mind is drawn back to the "Jerry Springer musical" and the outrage which spawned from it despite 90% of the people not having seen it and the complaints that it was shown on TV. Those people had the option to turn over, watching it wasnt compulsory! While I do not approve of many things, any type of porn including children etc, I have the choice of deciding to look at whatever I want and its not for someone else to tell me what I can or cant look at. If something is illegal then it should be persued by the authorities , just as I would be if I robbed a bank (which I can probably find plans for on the internet....now theres a thought!:-) and closed down. I know its not as simple as that otherwise we wouldnt be having this conversation.
I want to be free to decide myself what I want to see. Whatever you do to prevent access, someone will find a way around it, someone else will pay extra for the facility, a new industry will spring up and it wont have worked.
The padlock is perhaps the most common bit of badly given security advice. While it does mean the transmissions are encrypted, in this case what difference would it have made? If I was operating a secure website but had dodgy employees, whats to stop them using the card details to make purchasing? The padlock only helps if you have someone sniffing the details.. doesnt stop fraud internally.
