If usenet is now illegal how does a company like Usernet survive. Pay them to access all sorts of software, music, films etc and that's ok? I suppose because they're a German company they're immune.

Power guzzling iOS11

The biggest problem with iOS 11 is the power guzzling. My iPad Mini 2 used to last 8-10 hours but since updating it only lasts 4-6 hours now. Annoyingly my iPad 2 is incompatible with any iOS since version 9.3.5 yet it still works perfectly. As usual with Apple they build obsolescence into their products to force you to upgrade to a newer phone and iPad. The good thing with Apple is they don't charge you for it, so that's a bonus over other systems.

As far as the comments saying they're too expensive goes, so are their rivals. Samsung phones are on a par with Apple but spend more advertising how marvellous they are and yet they still use awful Android; I say awful because it is unless you're used to using a Spectrum 48 and don't want to use anything more complicated.

£25 for an ugly interface that is not intuitive; slow as smell and totally useless unless it's connected to the internet all the time. I'm glad I only ruined my laptop with it and reverting to Win 7 because it's going in the bin where it belongs. Even Vista is better than Win 8.

Why should you have to get another program just to add a proper start button? as in Start 8?

No DVD playback as standard. Sorry MS but you've lost the plot completely. I won't be upgrading from 7 as it's taken me 3 years just to get my existing software and hardware to work together properly.

I never use WAP. It's a complete waste of time; slow, slower and dead stop. Mobile phones are supposed to be phones so why can't they just sell a phone that makes calls, receives them and sends short messages? A lot simpler.

UK2.net still sorting email service

UK2 not working at all !!

My new client paid UK2.net almost £300 on 4th November 2009 and is still waiting for the cpanel to give her access to her web space. Their support staff don't answer emails; she can't get hold of them on any of their numbers; and she is now trying to get a refund.

Maybe they can afford to lose customers but I can't. I have never dealt with such an appalling hosting company in almost 25 years of web designing and I certainly won't be recommending them to anyone else.
