Google Nest server outage leaves US, European smart homes acting dumb

spr97ajm

Since Google took over, the Nest iOS app seems to get worse with every update. The video playback freezes and I have to restart the app. The current build has a corrupted U/I element (The button that changes the view from a timeline to a list of events). I refuse to move to a Google login because I will lose access to the Apple TV app, which I actually find quite useful.

Re: Why even touch user folders?

The first ever Windows phone I owned (the Orange SPV) had a similar sync philosophy. The first time I connected it to my PC, it deleted all my contacts.

I had to admit, both devices were then in sync though.

Coding with dad on the Dragon 32

Loved my Dragon.

Pretty much the same story here. My Dad bought me one when they came out and I was hooked. Managed to convince my mum I was hacking into a local bank via the TV aerial. She nearly had a heart attack. Spent hours typing in code from 'Input' magazine. Loading games from cassette was definitely a dark art. Spent dozens of hours fiddling with volume, bass and treble controls, plugging and unplugging the cable, cleaning tape heads, turning off surrounding electrical equipment. "I/O ERROR". I sold it just last year. The bloke came back to me and said "You do know there was a break in the cassette tape lead?"

Oh how we laughed.

FAIL

Hacked?

I saw this on my Hotmail account the other day. The typo made me think that my account had been hacked in some way. On one hand I'm glad it hasn't. On the other, it's the final nail in the coffin of Hotmail for me.
