Last place I worked at that had something similar was Nitrogen based - on the principle that fire isn't self-sustaining at less than 14% O2 partial pressure.

He was, as the blurb on the back of the paperbacks said, 'The Monty Python of the spaceways' - his writing always had humour , dark though it may have been, and his prose was some of the most absorbing I have ever had the pleasure to read.

Sounds like a mish-mash of everyone's upgrade strategy. The only bit I didn't see was the 18month subscription upgrade with version 3, 3S, 4, 4S where it all looks the same on the outside, but some whizzy bits on the inside get changed, and you may notice a difference

Fairly uneventful

No real problems here. Started downloading at 7:30 pm or so, 668Mb in 50 minutes.

The only problem was with iTunes backing up my 3GS - kept on getting an error. I had to create a new account and use that to back and restore. Finished by 11pm

It has to be cooled to below just liquid, and there are specific requirements for it to work.

Google says below 2.17kelvin for He4 and 0.002491 K for He3 - so the chances of finding it in an open container are quite slim...

Reminds me of school

I remember a physics experiment at school where you had to map the electric field around a sphere by measuring the deflection of a small flame. The reason that it stick in my memory is that the sphere used was a plastic ball covered in a metallic paint, and despite the strong exhortations to not measure too closely, at least one person would destroy the ball each time the experiment was run...

That's got to be a few years ago now, though
