Vodafone won't pay employee expenses for cups of coffee

Tolls

Reminds me of this at a place I used to work at

They stopped paying for the Dartford toll as you couldn't get a receipt

So the engineers said ok and drove the other way around the M25

Week after the rule was ditched

BOFH: That's right. Turn it off. Turn it on

Low power PC

Isn't a low power PC a better option

I have a mac mini with 2 x 1TB USB drives attached and it's a lot more powerful than a dedicated NAS

Power consumption is fairly low as well but not as low as this NAS

I concede it costs more , £500 for the mac and £100 for the drives but you get a lot more performance for your cash

cgnat

There is an opt out page for cgnat which leaves you with a regular ipv4 address

cgnat isn't supposed to affect infinity anyway but some people have been affected

bt vision is ok , but you need to use the bt homehub for the multicast channels , I wanted to use my own router but can't figure out the multicast setup

So if you are thinking of hosting servers be aware the homehub is crap

Re: same with BT

BT have been crafty here as usual

Tablet security study finds BlackBerry still good for something

Playbook

After the last firmware upgrade the Playbook is now a pretty capable tablet , especially if you have a blackberry phone , bridge mode is very good for browsing , email and txt.

It can run some android apps now as well although app world is still a bit sparse

and expensive.

The one glaring omission is Skype , add that and for £129 for the 64GB version

its better value than the Kindle HD or the Nexus 7

@James Hughes1

It's your own fault for calling it the Raspberry Pi - invites apple comparisons

Funniest thing I have read all day though the comparison to apple and your response

There only the biggest company on the planet and you're a charity , seems like a fair comparison

TalkTalk takes broadband to 80Mbps

Paul 181

Should be a free upgrade

I am surprised this is not a free upgrade

I have BT Infinity and this almost certainly means it will be an extra £5 for their 80/20 as well

I will probably pay the extra though unless it means signing up for another 12 months.

It's even easier than that, if you have a router than can be flashed with dd-wrt then it can host a PPTP VPN
