Taiwan chip magnate pledges cash for defense against China: 'I'm telling everyone to oppose the CCP'

Re: Interesting...

Maybe you should explain that t0 the Trump Party RINOs.

Also, the US has Civil Defence but no actual military civil defence, all it has is what the NRA considered "hillbillies, nuts, whackos, idiots and fruitcakes."

Re: Another Rich Corn Flake?

Has is ever entered your mind that the PRC has never invaded another country as opposed the history of such and other subversion by the USA (and the UK) and is simply preparing for a USA instigated revolt in what it considers it's own country?

"Had Russia steamrolled Ukraine in 3 days then honestly I think that troops would have been landing in Taiwan by now." It walked into and took over the Crimea. The PRC didn't then attack the RoC, so your logic is fallacious.

gandalfcn

Re: Another Rich Corn Flake?

You have how many ports has the RoC got capable of bringing in food, "ammo" etc.? Kaohsiung, Keelung, Hualien and Taichung. Meanwhile the 2nd largest navy in the world is blockading and taking over control of those ports.

Shooting down a civilian drone over Shiyu was a somewhat daft thing to do as there are thousands of tourists on boats filming the island all the time.

Not forgetting that the PRC has started it does not want to take Taiwan by force but the warmongers in the USA, and their lap dogs, keep antagonising Beijing for their own political agendas and needs. Hello Nancy! Elections coming up are they?

gandalfcn

Re: Another Rich Corn Flake?

The RoC already has a pretty effective and substantial defence system. Problem is some people relish conflict and war. Look at the history of the USA since WWII and the UK forever.

NASA sees our space future as both government and privately run

gandalfcn

Re: Errm it always was

Correct, but they were fulfilling orders not taking over, as is the intention is here. All that will happen ois that taxpayer funded NASA will subsidise the likes of Musk amd guaranteed big profits. It happened in the UK with the privatisation of infrastructure and utilities.

Google, YouTube ban election trolls ahead of US midterms

gandalfcn

Re: MAGA Republicans

"Well, apart from the fact that they hate each other of course." They don't. The trolls love the GOP (to be correct the Trump Party RINOs" and the Trump Party RINOs love the trolls.

Your analogy was so off the mark as to be risible.

gandalfcn

"Google and its YouTube subsidiary have joined other social media networks pledging to keep the 2022 US midterm elections safe and free from Russian trolls" Which means they know Russian trolls have been active and yet did nothing about it. Muller concluded that too, as have all non GOP investigations in the USA and coincidentally in the UK.

Musk tries to stall Twitter takeover trial following whistleblower claims

gandalfcn

Re: provides "additional bases" to terminate the merger plan

Especially after waiving due diligence.

gandalfcn

Re: Found some of the money

"Seems like people expect Musk to be spending $44bn sight unseen." LOL

He waived due diligence, which ,means he wasn't interested in looking. The total opposite of what you are saying.

LOL.

gandalfcn

Re: Found some of the money

He thought it would be a pushover and he could make a quick buck, his m.o., which is why he waived due diligence which is a lengthy process. Then the realisation kickled in that he had trotally fcuked up/

Tuff! He believes he's the macho wheeler dealer like his mate IQ45, the professional bankrupt.

gandalfcn

" What's going on here is that Twitter's trying to perpetrate a fraud against both current and potential investors (Musk)." When someone attempts a hostile take-pver (Musk) but waives due diligence, the only fraud is Leon, as usual.

gandalfcn

IQ45's Truth Social’s business plan is going tsup and G00gle still hasn't approved Truth Social.

gandalfcn

I see someone doesn't understand what due diligence means.

"In financial setting, due diligence means an investigation or audit of a potential investment consummated by a prospective buyer. The objective is to confirm the accuracy of the seller’s information and appraise its value."

"Generally, the legal terms in a contract or other purchase agreements express specifics of the transaction. These may include the length of the investigation period, items to be examined, and the expiration date.

Audit tasks are subject to various situational contingencies. They typically include auditing financial records, evaluating assets and liabilities, and assessing operations or business practices."

"Due diligence undertaken in mergers and acquisitions is vigorous, time consuming, and complex.

Incomplete or improper investigation is actually one of the major culprits of why even the biggest M&A deals failed.

Therefore, it is critical for firms to closely investigate potential investments and understand the business’ true value. A firm may otherwise waste a great deal of their valuable assets and time completing the transaction."

gandalfcn
