when you have 1.3 billion to blow, would be to buy a new naval war ship. Sail it around the uk with lots women in just their bras and combat trousers and station the recruitment centers on board ship.
I'm sure that would be a lot more cost effective and drive recruitment up, and when the campaign is over, the boat can passed on to the navy.
My boss is trying to become a "thought leader" in "enterprise feedback management (EFM)"... basically you become a thought leader by blogging and commenting on subjects and having other people blog about your blogging and comments, like your facebook posts, and retweet your twits - eventually you get invited to give speeches at conferences because you are now recognised as a "thought leader" on the subject the conference is about, as you have produced so much web 2.0ish crap and social guff.
Hello,
has anyone else noticed that dvds seem to all have the same crappy round menu icons now instead of looking like they belong on the menu.
Why is this? This never used by like this, I hav only noticed in the last year. BTW the dvd's I buy are from germany, case this matters
"scalable, controllable and potentially well able to keep the lights on for centuries or millennia."
... except if some natural disaster, human error, or computer error causes a melt down... I'd rather live in a hotter world than one where nothing can live becuase of too many melt downs from nuclear plants that happened to be located near, volcanos, tusnamis, had too many home simpsons working for them, or have computers running microsoft software.
....darpa announce plan to control dolphins via underwater internet. Dolphins will act as highly mobile Mini cruise missile launches and brain implants will allow the navy to send them to locations for launching.
Darpa says weight of missiles irrelevant as the dolphins are in water.
Well whatever tomorrow's news is I hope they test the effect of this on marine life... we all know what sonar does to the whales
...all i learnt in secondary school in computers was that "station 6123 isn't listening", and when it was, just playing battle of the bulge. Then in the real world I discovered that no one ever used BBC computers or arcs.
Like I said, great idea, but I think the vast majority of PIs have been bought up by nerds, the kind who run linux... I can't see this doing much for children's education.
...the real reson people can't be arsed anymore to add content is because the anal retards who spend their entire time reverting edits that anyone except them add...
... obviously none of these 'tards are interested in skeleton keys (read the first line)

By the time they do draw up standards everyhing will be done without wires and this will all be pointless.
Anyway the standard will probabley whatever company that make adapters that the Euro MPs have shares in or their families have shares in,
