BT normally trawl forums doing their utmost to remove negative comments. Simple facts with BT. You are dealing with penny pinching, lazy morons. It's almost certain any manhole chamber was built by a third party contractor for the lowest possible fee.

That said, and for all their ills, it's unlikely they would be negligent to this extent. How about National Grid moleploughed that main in forcing it under the chamber when they struck an obstruction?

Despite the cross platform nature of Firefox, this hole is still a more significant issue for Windows users than anyone else. Last time I checked I was not starting Firefox as root :-) if someone went to the trouble to use the exploit with Linux & Mac they may be able to empty my home directory, but that would pretty much be the limit of it :-)

Another Barracuda Success

From personal experience I'm aware that the NHS makes use of Barracuda Devices to scan incoming mail and around May of this year a phishing email passed through them with a *very* low score that created the first round of carnage. It was a *good* phishing mail requesting NHS users to provide their log-in details and people fell for it - but did have the classic 'ticks' that should have been easy enough to pick up.

Three failures here;

1. The Barracuda failing to identify the initial phishing mail which had all the classic 'ticks' of phishing mail.

2. Users not being educated as to the risks and likelyhood of being asked to provide log in details by email

3. The Admin of the NHS mail system *not* spotting the blacklisting problem.

Did the Barracuda Spam Firewall fail to score???? I guess being that it is Spamassassin in a box, you can't really test it as an individual product?
