"Another day, another tech giant starts a patent lawsuit."
Another day, and the same ol greedy, megalomaniac company decided to start a patent lawsuit.
there fixed that for you.

just install whatever WM you feel comfortable with and stop whining.
i use enlightenment e16, have been for the last so many years and cannot imagine working without it.
anyone who whines is just a sore windows/mac luser who still doesn't "get it". linux is all about choice and freedom to choose.
and if freedom to choose is too much for you to handle, just go back to being told what you can and cannot do.
Motorola have released froyo for the milestone. just updated my phone yesterday, except for one single reboot, no issues so far. also syncing with exchange server works much better than before.
i still have some wifi connection issues specific to my el cheapo modem/router. so i may still go the dark side. however with my current work load that would be a few months away at least.
surprised how the reg could have missed the froyo roll out from motorola though.
syncing between android and microsoft exchange client works like a charm on my wifes milestone.
if that works, there's little reason to sync between outlook and the phone over bluetooth.
having said that, i have used bluetooth to sync with outlook, but not any more. using the exchange client is just a better way of doing it. the data usage is very reasonable, works with wifi so that office and home are covered, and it's fast even over normal gprs/edge connections. even company directory lookup works like a charm for both android and my e71.
given how well opensync works with my e71 and evolution for the calendar and contacts over bluetooth, i'd say it's just a matter of time before syncing an android phone to a pc using bluetooth becomes run of the mill.
not american, but as a christian, I see hate, disdain and insults against my religion all the time. one just learns to let barking dogs bark, or in this case down vote your posts. no big deal.
having said that, any thing that incites hate should be censored, the world has enough problems as is.
"AWSD only works with a full size keyboard, but with a small phone keyboard, where your controlling a game character, you might be mishitting the wrong key as you should be looking at the screen and not the keyboard. Keyboards just suck for simplifying the layout of a system in a hand held."
you're holding it wrong.

sent from my iphone
but that would be ok see because most of the fanbois would not be using it to make calls. those that do would just be a disruptive minority like them no good scum trying to run linux on a ps3

shirley you mean elinks?
tabbed browsing, scroll wheel support (yeah yeah, even for a text browser), ssh support, better formatting. plus all the usual goodies that lynx offers like tying into mutt to display html mail etc.
maybe lynx also supports some of the above, but it didn't when i made the switch many a fortnight ago.
unless, i am a complete dodo and you are referring to browsers only available in ios.
beer cos it's friday and you deserve one for mentioning lynx.
"A Means or Method to Listen to Audio or Other Media Players Less than 2 mm thick"
Method 1:
use smaller Jacks made from Metal or an Alloy of Metals or Any Other materials that is yet to be discovered that gets the job done"
Method 2: use in-line connectors
Method 3: use separate connectors and "poke" the device in more than one slot.
Method 4: use magnetic contacts
Method 5: use Velcro or any other adhesive like fastener
Method 6: Anything else i forgot to mention
they can then drive meego in a manner of their choosing. even if anti poaching agreements exist between them at least for the alliance, i don't see nokia in a position to enforce such an agreement now.
dear mr. elop,
meegone.
sincerely,
meego engineer
the 5110, 3315, 9300 and e71 will be cherished. i wish i got me a n900 and 6310i as well, now i just can't get myself to shell out any more money on you.
you built some truly great phones in your day. no wonder that i cannot get my self to part with my 9300.
now not only are you on a burning rig staring at the frigid waters below, you also have a fat balding man about to hurl a chair at you. have a nice day, bye bye.
you get an up vote from me.
having said that, i also believe that even one Palestinian killed in one too many as is the case for even one Israeli killed. judging who is worse by numbers killed or who started it first is futile and childish. in the end, we all lose.
i do wish that we all could one day just learn how to get along.
life's to short to waste it on hate.
just think, even one of those kids killed could have one day found a cure for cancer or aids. now we just never will know. like i said earlier, we *all* lose.
is a free LTS release for old fogies like me who are too long in the tooth to upgrade every year.
well, the beauty of linux is the choice. and as soon i configured e16 on ubuntu 10.04, i've decided to stick with it.
however as a long term redhat/fedora user i'm sure that this release will be top notch as always. i'll download and install it on a usb disk the first weekend i get some time to play around.
it's not just managers, you get arse wipes even in the engineering ladder who are not sound technically and yet conduct interviews. These are the type who can sweet talk and make it seem that they know more than they do. this particular specimen had his crosstalk concepts all wrong and I told him as much. I didn't get the job, but in retrospect it would probably have been worse to get the job and suffer the fool everyday.
Sometimes though, if you really need the job it may be necessary to actually appear less capable then you really are especially in this era of insecurity.
if you're really good at your job though, you will still get a job cleaning up the mess primates such as the specimen quoted above make.
being able to see my daughter is a huge plus when i'm away from home. albeit she's still at the goo-goo ga-ga stage and perhaps when she can speak i can talk to her and not want the video so much, but for now skype and it's video rule. and putting this on the iphone is a biggie.
having said that, i still do not like being told what i can and cannot do. or having his holiness decide for me. sorry greedy stevie, face time is uber kewl an all, but you're not getting any dosh from me.
hmm, I sometimes login to my office server to run scripts, do some minor editing in vim, and this on my nokia e71 running putty. i'm seriously thinking about the n900 or milestone simply for the wider screen and the fact that running x means I can do a lot more.
Would a tablet pc work for me? I doubt it. But then as stated above, my requirement is different. I was skeptical about cloud based computing at first. But now as bandwidth is more freely available and cheaper I may need to rethink.
In it's present form I don't see tablet pc's including the ipad lasting beyond the fad value. Unless they come up with a ''thought to text'' method of data entry, I simply don't see the demise of the physical keyboard, which is why I think that devices such as the n900 or the milestone are form factors of the future. They just need to hit the sweet spot with regard to the screen resolution and battery life. They're almost there but yet not quite.
anyone who's had a communicator knows what I'm talking about.
