Cockfighting Reg hack cursed with cancer

Thanks for all the fish

I used to read 'el reg for the tech articles before slowly burning out on IT, then I started reading it mostly for the odds/sodds. This is just depressing through - Lester you've finally killed my love of 'el reg. I'll be handing my bofh mug to the office apprentice and blackholing the site. I guess I may return at somepoint in the future if ever I want to find out which companies are suing each other or which snuff films you recommend for the week, but nah probably not.

Hey, Music Industry. You're suing the wrong people

Second hand CDs/etc

I'd be interested to hear your opinions on buying music/films/games/books second hand, from say, Amazon or Ebay. Surely that's as bad as piracy right?

@Mark I went the other way, from Aptana to Dreamweaver (code view). The constant syntax error warnings whenever I start typing is nowhere near as annoying as Aptana's insistance of popping up a list of ampersand commands whenever I close php, or putting the closing tags after the cursor whenever I start a new one.

Oh and just had a look at the Muse demo as well, omg you guys weren't joking. I sometimes feel I'm coding sloppily by using too many divs, but after looking at that site......

Oh come on - "While some scientists claim to have evidence, others say games have the opposite effect"? You're presenting the views of the lead programmer from id software as a reputable counter to any scientific study that's linked violence in games/tv to real life?

So you think my belief that people can be changed/corrupted by their environment is a logical fallacy equal in stupidity to your little coffee/heroin story?

Maybe it's just that I don't understand the attraction in torture-porn. What part of HC2 are you looking forward to the most and why? Watching people shit in each others mouths, or watching a woman getting raped with a cock wrapped in barbed wire?

Are you honestly saying you're against censorship to such an extent that you don't see a problem with, for example, films of computer generated CP being available for people to buy?

Thanks for reinforcing my views on the sort of person who'd enjoy watching HC2 :D (not implying you'd be into that kind of thing, just that you're border-line retarded).

HP Fun

I received a keyboard (with a HP LC2000) many yrs ago where the letters were printed half a cm too high. Fun, but no where near as fun as a completely blank one!

Brian May stands up for Welsh badgers

Love you Long Time

After you've spent ~many~ years in the I.T. industry (find yourself suitably bored by technical news/gossip) you may find yourself visiting El Reg only for the Science and 'Odds & Sods' sections.

"Steve Jobs Vindicated: Google Android is not open" vs "Brian May stands up for Welsh badgers", I think I know where I'd prefer to click!

Thanks that really cheered me up! Definitely worth the wait, this could easily form the basis of a spin-off series!

To misquote my spiritual leader; "You know the phrase 'to get rid of something'? Well, I realise now that you meant that in a sort of Julie Andrews way. Whereas I was thinking more along the lines of Al Pacino."

A very thoughtful, considerate predator

I was attacked by a Lynx once - it repeatedly asked if I was comfortable as I lay on the ground with its jaws clamped round my throat, and after the attack it sent me flowers.

Japan torture flick sickens UK film censor

"Banning a film just means that people will want to see it even more and most likely download it from Bit Torrent."

What people are these? The sick fucks who enjoy watching executions, or the people who might pick it up from Blockbuster without realising exactly what it is or how graphic the scenes are? I'm sure whatever studio which released this film will be far from happy at this news - yeah torrent sites might be getting a lot of hits for a few days until the hype/hardons wear off, but can't see that generating much profit for the studio compared from having it sold on the shelf across the country.

I was going to say that it's nice that He took time out from His busy schedule to answer the prayers of all those people living in poverty and unhappiness (I'm sure they'll all be incredibly happy to know that their wishes to see Dawkin's forum offline have been granted), but then realised I'd probably be feeding the trolls :(
