Who wants to work on a 264-Core, 6TB RAM supercomputer?

Elwell

The difference with Zythos (and other UV2000s) is that all the CPUs/memory is addressable as a single machine, not a cluster spread over multiple racks. It all depends what codes you need to run, and how they scale

Why no whitelist firewall

Given that these are all apparently tills and ATMs why the monkeys do they have full internet access?

Surely they should only have access to whitelisted hosts - Bank gateway, Stock control (internal?) and vendor software updates (could be mirrored internally)

Dammit, beaten to it. I was just about to post and extoll its virtues, especially when it comes to TADREP (F12 ftw)

Windows Fail

Listening to them this morning (via somafm.com/missioncontrol/) and they were having trouble with one of the laptops on board - wasn't booting into windows and kept giving the 'do you want to start in safe mode' prompt. Nice to see some things are consistent even in space...

dnsmasq

If you're using dnsmasq then you should be able to fix this by using the bogus-nxdomain flag,

ie, for those of you using opendns but don't want their search page you can get away with: bogus-nxdomain=208.69.34.132 in your config file.
