Completely and utterly agreed.

The most popular web services always have some sort of desktop client, because so much more can be achieved than in the horribly restricted browser environment.

Registry "Cleanup" causes more problems than it solves (and has left PCs unbootable more than once for me), but otherwise it's a solid set of tools. Especially the System Control, which goes way beyond the normal windows control panel, and the disk usage analyser.

Microsoft howls as Google turns IE into Chrome

WTF?

@I hate vista.

DRM has never noticibly intruded upon my usage of Vista, and the Office 2007 interface is a huge step up from 2003 and previous versions. Once you've designed a few user interfaces, you will learn to appreciate how incredibly versatile and compact the Ribbon is.

Saying you prefer toolbar spam simply because you know where things are is incredibly ignorant.

Microsoft harries XP-loving biz customers on to Windows 7

Kotonoha
WTF?

VNC?!

Why on earth would you want to use VNC when RDP is available?

It hooks directly into the OS and sends the contents of windows, not screenshots of them (VNC).

And Windows 7 has added some pretty nice video playback functionality in its new version of RDP.

Music industry cooks UK government's piracy stats

Kotonoha
WTF?

File-sharing?

You don't need to share files to pirate them. There are many services out there where you can simply download a file - no need for and uploading (sharing). This also arguably makes it less illegal.
