Microsoft says Skype outages are over – a few hours too early

Meet the new bork, same as the old bork....

And it's been like that for several days.

Amazed it wasn't on The Register's front page this morning.

Perhaps you've all moved to Slack or Zoom already.

Well, that's another thing we won't be able to do from our new carrier(s).

Ballot papers now printed as bank notes?

Interesting article. The diversion of money to make a political point is rather accepting that politics is all about money, when I believe it should not be. We elect politicians, who then accept, well.....

I had an idea the other day, citizens should set up a lobby group and pay politicians a few tens of thousands a year to do what we want them to do, and make it binding upon them not to do anything against the interests of the lobby group. Perhaps we could call the payments the lobby group makes, oh, I don't know, a salary? And we could call the way that we arrange for the transfer of funds something official sounding, oooh, how about taxation?

Do you think such a lobby group could be set up, or do you think the funding issue might make politicians blush to accept such an amount and do so little to ensure they do what they're paid for?

Our _two_ main weapons are...

Scramble and Missile Command - I'm sitting at a desk, still using a track-ball rather than a mouse, and I think that's got something to do with Missile Command.

Re: This is an outrage

I'm sorry that 'Scramble' is absent. That and Defender used to take up a lot of my teenage time.

Unhappy

Nothing yet - the page just suggests next update in June/July.

Visiting the referenced update page, there's nothing there yet about anything beyond the Java 7 update 13.

I'll keep looking, and hoping.

Pete.

Return of Sharky?

Didn't Sharky's book about the Harrier's performance around and during the Falklands mention that the Harrier defeated F-16s jockeyed by elite US pilots in air-to-air combat?

Please may we have the Sea-Harrier back now?

Updated to 3.5.1 - Fingerprint software stopped working

Interesting reading FAIL comment above. I was running 3.0.11, selected Help => Check for updates and got 3.5.1. That version appears to be incompatible with the fingerprint password safe on my computer, so I had to start remembering passwords for sites such as this one again. I have since gone back to 3.0.11, then went looking specifically for 3.0.12 based on the URL used to download 3.5.1 and just changing the numbers.

Generally, I'm content with Firefox 3.0, I have quite liked using the Space-Time browser for a while, but I'd rather just keep this version with fixes being applied to it as and when.
