Like mentioned, if they offered this as an app for iphone or S60 they'd get much more business.

Its the advertisers who should pay, you can't just play dumb there, you should know how your business is being represented. If you advertise through spamming scumbags you should get financially ruined too.

Who on earth needs a keyboard so badly that you want your reader ruined by one? (and the new Sony one has a touch screen keyboard, far more elegant). Its a reader, if you want to type get a bloody UMPC.
And i never understood the wireless part. Have you ever been so utterly desperate for a book that you had to download it RIGHT BLOODY NOW, instead of waiting to get home for a sync?

I can't help wondering though if by 2016 we'll all have 30 terabytes on our desktops.
In 2000 most of us were still on sub-gigabyte drives and the idea of picking up a terabyte HD for £90 would have been though of as witchcraft.
Seems a bit daft planning all this now, no telling where storage and processor (see the Cell) tech will be in 8 years.
It looks like it can do little more than your average smartphone, only without the actual phone bit.
"Mini java game", so its not actually a portable Dreamcast then, its just plays mobile phone games if we're lucky.
Screen looks wrong for movies too, and i hope that 2GB memory is expandable.
No threat to the PSP if you ask me, this is a very niche device. The phone world has learnt that portable live TV is one thing that sounds great but few people actually need, especially with our 5 crappy channels.

Basically for $100 more you get a lighted border (still not sure how well that'll work compared to turning on a bedside lamp), search function from onscreen keyboard, and a fingerprint-tastic touchscreen based on some questionable swipe-pageturn tech.
Think i'll not wait for this one. I like the design of the 505 anyway more than this.

I signed up for a mail address just to see how long before it got spam in, was a matter of hours before the flow started.
Mail accounts become unmanagable within months, its completely useless, but the moronic suits that run Microsoft now don't want too strong spam filters in case the advertisers complain.

If the EPO goes the way of the American Patent system we may as well just close down all the universities and declare science and innovation to be a dead concept.

In related news, Sony very quietly killed off a payment method on the PSN network this week. Entropay virtual Visa's are no longer accepted, simply because some non-US guys were getting around the IP restrictions and buying movies and stuff in their own filthy commie countries.

The amount of "For sale" signs i see around is growing rapidly, and the estate agent windows that were previously full of houses are now full of rented accomodation. Meanwhile the stories of record reposessions grow as people initial interest-free periods begin to run out.

Umm, no, the Touch has it on the bottom too, i dunno about the classic.
It makes more sense on the bottom by far. You have it pointing down as when you pull it out it'll be in your hand and under your thumb, and having the cable on the bottom is much neater than it poking out the top (as my phone does).

There have been many advances on MP3's, HE-AAC+ is especially incredible at low bitrates, but no-one cares.
MP3 is everywhere, it works, its not getting replaced.
And this thing sounds like nothing that can't be done using Flash.

As for the film, this idea was mooted about a decade ago, the idea that the 'busters would train a hip new bunch of young hip "characters".
I hope they don't go back to this idea, it sounded awful then, and it sounds worse now that "the kidz" would be spouting iPhones and spending most of their 'bustin time on Myspace.
