A thing of beauty!
What a good start to Friday afternoon - nice one Simon (I'm sure I've used those doors myself at previous companies!).

Having worked for the UK civil service (albeit 17 years ago), I can vouch for that government method. Our office used to get all sorts of new desks, chairs & plants come year end (remember, it was 17 years ago, so there wasn't as much nice & fancy IT desktop stuff to blow the budget on!)....
Nice one Simon, as per usual :)
Don't worry Hedley, it comes to us all ;)
My old Belkin wireless router threw a hissy fit a couple of months back after 3 years of sterling service. Reluctantly I went off to PCW, but found a replacement by Zoom for only £30 (yeah, I didn't know much about Zoom, but it was an emergency, and £30 seemed pretty good :D).
Hate to say this folks, but the following tickbox option has been in the "search" section of privacy settings at least since I joined Facebook back in May:
"Allow my public search listing to be indexed by external search engines (ex. Google, Yahoo, MSN)"
So, for at least 4 months it has been an option - I had no idea they *weren't* allowing external search engine indexing until I saw the item saying that they were going to, so I just turned it off as a matter of course *shrug*
Just a case of being aware.....
Yes, the ICO is a completely toothless organisation - I did Subject Access Request to both RBoS and NatWest last year and neither responded within the 40 day deadline as laid down in the rules (and I know for a fact they were doing, and continue to do, this to many other customers). Complaints to the ICO resulted in them simply continually requesting the data to be sent - no enforcement action at all. It took RBoS 4 months and NatWest 7 months to send the data requested.
Absolutely ridiculous, what's the point in having the law there if the "big boys" can flout it without punishment?

"Anyway what do you pay for a pint? The variation in prices in the UK always staggers me when I'm home. You can a lovely pint of Sammy Smiths in the Shambles in Manchester for less than £1.50. Why pay more and why drink anything else? Lager drinkers deserve all the overcharging they get."
Actually, some of us down here in the South are exiled Northerners that only drink bitter :P
I'd dearly love to go home to my beloved Yorkshire every weekend to go out on the beer and pay less than £2 a pint (especially for Sammy's Old Brewery Bitter), but it's just not feasible.
Instead, my local down here serves a cracking pint of Old Speckled Hen for £2.50, which isn't that bad a price for the wilds of Wiltshire...
