Turn off JavaScript, have a look at the browser ballot page and prepare to be utterly shocked at the order you see!

Mind you, you maybe have to assume that anyone with the wherewithal to disable JavaScript has probably also got a better browser installed, but that's not the point.

Every time I read these stories I get annoyed. 'Alpine' is not the default root password as defined by Apple. On Mac OS X (which includes the iPhone), there IS no root password, the root account is disabled and SSH is not installed on the device. Jailbreaking involves installing SSH, and it's part of that install procedure which activates and sets a default password. The people at fault here are the numpties who wrote the jailbreak procedure to include a default password and those who leave SSH running with said default password.

This is ridiculous! I understand the right to free speech and so on, but who in their right mind thinks that explaining how to exploit another person's computer system is a good idea? What good could possibly come from this? The guy admitted they're not vulnerabilities, so can't be fixed, so other than getting himself some script kiddie kudos, what is his reason for "sharing" this information?
