In our race to automate (improve ?) everything - we the able bodied often forget to include the likes of folks who are less well endowed with stuff like, vision - for a start.

In my own ADHD world, it appears that it has been decided by none ADHD people that ADHD people do not focus on the same bits of an image, or sound, or vocabulary that the other, none ADHD people do. Er, aren't these the people who are designing interrfaces for us ADHDers to use.............

Re: @Disgusted Of Tunbridge Wells

El Reg lost a hell of a lot more when they opened up the editorial to the none UK litteratii.

No slurs intended peeps, English is English, as fucked up as the language is, it is unique for opportuning such delights as "humour" out of these ambiguities, ie; irony for a start.

What we in UK have enjoyed from this greater diversity of tech input has unfortunately, watered down our previous sense of enjoyment, having been created by such a warped sense of humour which often lays bare the marketing wallabies best efforts to confuse and bamboozle us. Dabbsie etc.

As I haven't been there it is probably incorrect for me to have an opinion on our friendly US and Oztrralian scribes, but from reading the lines here in el Reg, (as there are now less lines in between to read) it appears that OZtralian and US scribes cannot tell the difference between talk and mutter........ They gave away confidential NHS information about UK residents health.

They think that cutting red tape in one area of govermins tinkerings will cover the increases in red tape in all the other sectors.

If HS2 is a good example of "how" UK conducts large scale projects, then any more advance technical projects will be able to follow the wide road to oblivion that's already been demonstrated to the world.

Re: And after

I'm 69 and I am frankly pretty pissed off with the way that most of my doctors applications for me to have treatments have been knocked back by "a panel of experts" who decide that the GP's reference was not valid in this case.

Chiropractics has been a recognised treatment which should be available under the NHS. In 40 years I have been unable to access McTimoney or any chiropractic via the NHS

I have had several GP's applications for a Mental Health Assessment knocked back.

The first retry was partially successful in that the "assessment" wasn't the type of assessment that the GP had asked for !!!

So I had to get a private psychiatric assessment done whilst waiting for the retry down the NHS path.

Getting the assessment was time critical, but the panel didn't mind.

And the panel struck again this year.

I imagine the people that sit on the panel get paid a reasonable amount of money for throwing my GP's applications into the bin and back to the bottom of the ladder.

Hopefully I'll have passed away by the time Palantair get their hands on my data.

Al fazed
WTF?

It's all bollox

Look, sorry to those folks who've heard me saying this before,

for f*cks sake..........the patient data is not the issue, as everyone who commented above recognises, there's a problem at the top of the shit pile which prevents execution of the processes and functions at the botom of the pile in a timely fashion.

Then you have to run due dillgence on the data (?) being given away ............

Meaning, that unless you are a current main stream NHS user, sitting in a queue most likely, the rest of us have already jumped ship, a while back - when it comes to looking after ones Health and Well Being. We have been using Alternative Medicine and Complimentary Medicines, Herbalism, Shamanism etc,. generally as the queuues are a lot shorter and also generally speaking, as these "cures" are actually curing people of all the main issues that affect a modern body and/or mind.

Where is this precious, "accurate", "timely" data on British "SUBJECTS" ? It isn't in the NHS records.

The only accurate or timely data in the data set is confined to the above said NHS users, who are currently the "subject of" dodgy medicines from interplanetary pharma, experimental surgeries and orthopeadic and other exotic treatments, which frankly speaking, I wouldn't use one someone I loved.

So the NHS data is data on slaves and serfs who don't have any alternatives and have to use the NHS services, when they are available, whilst, GET THIS....

Nurses fight for 5% pay rise, Govermins say fuck off, you are having 3.5%, two weeks later Barristers get 15% pay rise, but I imagine barristers every where DO NOT USE THE NHS, unless they were unfortunate enough to be in a car crash and end up in A&E, they have Private Medical Treatment, backed up by Medical Insurance. So 11.5% difference in percentage must be to pay those medical expenses.

BUT WHAT DO I KNOW ?

I got fed up reading this over glamourisation of Firefox,

Honestly, the more recent versions are shit and really STINK.

Firefox has been my browser of choice for many years - but hey ho - all things must go, in the end.

It's called Entropy my friend

A "Steady State", IBM coined the phrase and it is perfectly applicable to Firefox's Software Development Life Cycle as any other software development life cycle.

You have gone too far already.

I do not give a flying shit about your "vertical" tabs.

The fucking tabs that had been working fine for several months have changed positions - AGAIN, maybe to accomodate the vertical Tabs ?

I noW struggle to use Firefox as a web designer !

WHY ?

'cos not even with "no caching" and pressing Refresh too may times, the browser does not reflect the changes that I have just made to my web site.

I had to, (1) close and re start Firefox several times (no good) (2) reboot the fucking PC (no good) (3) change to a different machine using Firefox (OK one time) (4) Use a different browser (OK getting somewhere) (5) Seriously think about giving up web coding as this happens too often for Firefox to be considered professional or reliable software.

Gone too far you have. On the stuff that isn't fucking relevant. Even my Bookmarks have changed place on the screen (left to right), and no longer show the folder icons............it's gone too far.

When I think of developers, I think of privileged people running amock, re-developing stuff because they can.

deluded - Titanic ?

These criminal gangs operate on a world wide basis. It said so in the article.

Just because you personally haven't read about, you refuse to believe it. It does not mean that it is not happeneing.

The real scale of illegal immigrants working in captivity in the UK has yet to be discovered, but the police are having to deal with these issues in connection with things like cannabis farms - throughout the UK.

In London's surrounding suburbs including Oxford, children as young as 10 years old are being dropped off with a quantity of heroin etc at a local dealers pad. This is where the stay until they have sold the "merch" in £10 bags............. Repeat this cycle........

Some drug dealers in UK cities (it has been discovered) move in to the "sheltered accomodation" which is being rented to one of their customers. It could be a single parent, the person often has a mental health disability, characteristics which keep them in housing, until the dealer gets caught and they are charged with "assisting" the dealer. The victim loses their "protected tenancy" and ultimately they end up back in the hands of the local authority and social services.

Recently it was reported that a bunch of folks living on a "travellers" site were discovered to have enslaved a chap who had downs syndrome. They had him working for many years, in exchange for a wrecked caravan for him to live in....
