Firefox 3.7 swivels glassy eye

I like it. Opera needs to do something similar

I like how the active tab is opaque, and the inactive ones transparent. However I wouldn't adopt firefix just to get that, I'm perfectly happy (and much more secure) using Opera.

I just wish Opera will update its look and feel, as even the work in Opera10 is not enough...

Xbox 360 reverses plunging console sales trend

@Tony Smith

Not when large swathes of consumers who don't read online blogs don't know about RROD warranty.

Based on the 3 or 4 people I know that threw theirs away and bought new, I reckon at least a million of those 360's are retail replacements.

re: Calm before the storm....

Pretty much everyone has said, now the Microsoft E3 hype has died down and everything has come out in the wash, the Sony technogy is the better balanced of the 2, and it's also more accurate.

With the Wand and PS3Eye, you have the best of both worlds. The Eye can do facial and body movement recognition, and with the wand you get the precision movements too.

You only have to look at Microsofts pre-recorded demonstration, and the faked "live" bit to see they are having problems gettting to to work right now, and that it's in the REALLY early stages of development. The Sony was was shown working live in a real demonstration.

I suspect the Sony Wand (or whatever it ends up looking like and being called) will beat Microsoft's to the market by 6 months at least AND end up better.

That said, it's likely that Microsoft will just shove what they have out on the market early regardless of if it works or not, just they they did with the 360 itself.

re: Why

Why? because Walkmans sound considerably better, they are build considerably better, and they aren't DRM laiden like the iPods are.

re: RipOFF UK Again

Anyone notice when it's a Microsoft product that overpriced, then it's the UK to blame, when it's a Sony product, everyone bashes Sony...

I rarely defend Microsoft, as they are corrupr corporate scumbags, but in this instance, Europe gets the FULL version for £49, whilst US gets the UPGRADE version fro $49.

Europe is getting a very fine deal indeed.

Quality? Are you serious? Apple products (certainly their audio and phone products) are dire in both quality quality and audio quality.

Not suprising.

Both Firefox AND IE are security nightmare, with more holes than swiss cheese.

The difference is, it's easier to ensure any holes are patched in IE quickly (via SUS or WU), firefox you have to rely on the users to do it, as there is no central management.

Opera CEO: Unite not a security risk

What people are forgetting.

Opera is the most secure browser on the planet, more secure than Firefox (not hard), more secure than IE (even easier), more secure than Chrome/Webkit/Safari.

I trust Opera to implement Unite in a way that does not compromise their existing unbeaten security track record, history says when Opera does it, they do it right. When Mozilla do it, it ends up a security swiss cheese...

The fact that Unite is off by default is something rather important to understand, and something that seems to be beyond the logic of some Tech writers.

The high price put too many council estate pikeys off...

However anyone with a spare bit of cash will appreciate that quality costs a little extra, and you don't have to settle for second best whilst convincing yourself you havn't.
