Scanjet 5P
Not quite as Flash (aaah-aaaaah), but the HP Scanjet 5P plays Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" straight out of the box - just select SCSI address 0, push the scan button and switch on.

I thought that some of the mobile operators who used to not charge for 0800 numbers, started to charge a number of years back because people were abusing the system by calling companies on 0800 numbers, who would in turn forward the call to any other number for less that the mobile phone operator.
The operators did try blacklisting specific 0800 numbers, but it then became a game of cat-and-mouse with the cheap(er) call companies constantly changing numbers, so the mobile operators effectively threw the baby out with the bathwater and started charging for all 0800s - quite good for their revenues too.
I wonder if this will start happening again an if so, how BT plan to tackle it?
I know this was touched on in the last paragraph of the article, but HTC and the press have primarily picked up on the video playback issue. However there are many other issues, including a generally sluggish GUI, poor graphics performance - e.g. TomTom refresh rate and the almost unusable camera. More details at http://htcclassaction.org/misunderstandings.php
Addressing the issue on future devices is not the issue, current users want HTC to supply drivers to fully utilise the graphic acceleration hardware already present in the current devices.
HTC appear to be generating a huge amount of bad will amongst their user base, in addition to adverse publicity in the press, seemingly as a result of cutting corners in their driver development. I'm afraid this will haunt them going forward if they do not act quickly, decisively and positively.
Granted, Internet on a PC is far better that Internet on a Wii, however for ad-hoc usage and used in conjuntion with split screen on an HDTV, it serves a purpose (check webmail etc. whilst watching TV). Also adds an additional Internet terminal when others in the house are in use by other family members.
I'm typing this comment on my Wii via a Gyration wireless USB keyboard adnd it's working fine.
The keyboard integration could be improved in Opera as you do still need to keep switching between the keyboard and the Wiimote, but it's a hundred times better than having to type with the on-screen soft keyboard.
A welcome improvement to the Wii that makes browsing a far more practical proposition.
