design flaw with original case?

When my girlfriend starting having problems with her kindle, Amazon gave her this case for free. They said her official non-lit case was causing the problem, somehow. Shes had no problems since using this case though!

BBC iPlayer graces BT's Vision

xbox 360 release soon then?

because i remember the reasoning for it not previously happening being that the bbc wouldnt agree to it because Microsoft wanted it to be Gold members only and the bbc said it must be free.

Windows 7 customers hit by service pack 1 install 'fatal error' flaws

Surely...

Surely Wsus-ers could just NOT approve the update? Who in their right mind lets all updates auto approve? Especially a service pack!

Feeling heat from Macs, Microsoft sells PCs sans crapware

David 155
Go

its about time

Inexperienced users cant be expected to have to deal with all this crapware that comes with the average windows pc. Ideally its got to just work and have everything you need already installed. Why dont Microsoft release a pc that is tamper proof and locked down, just like their Xbox? This is a step in the right direction.

Is that it?

With all the hype and chatter, I expected something a little bit more exciting than 'thinner'.

Am I the only one who cant tell the difference between Vista and 7? It was just a rebranding to get away from Vistas poor reputation, surely?

Freeview HD launches, gets Channel 4

The cheek...

Of CH4 giving virgin and the likes extra HD channels whilst leaving freeview out in the cold, how do they get away with it?

Apple uncloaks deep details of its 11 iPad apps

Hmmm

With a screen that big, I really cannot see the battery lasting as long as they claim. And word processing and spreadsheets on a touch screen? Sorry, I just cant imagine it working too well.

And just how are you meant to hold it? Its 7.5 inches wide. Balance it on one hand while typing one handedly with the other? Rest it on your lap and stare down at 90 degrees?

As for ripping dvds- I could have watched a film by the time it would take me to rip and transfer a film.

It will have great software support though, that is vital. If only my psp was given as much love.

So £500 and £30 a month for a bit of web browsing on the move, no ta.

Microsoft Office 2007 migration aches foreshadow 2010

@ Michael C

Sorry Michael but most of these new features are not much use in the environment I work in.

Free PDF conversion we already have and using Outlook here always results in some sort of major FAIL so we have no interest in that.

We are only just starting to install it for some people because of surprise- compatibility issues. A cynic might say these problems were intentional to get people to upgrade. As soon as one person has it and starts mailing round docx's etc its lighting the touchpaper.

David 155

Whats the advantage of upgrading?

I cant see many reasons to upgrade, what can it do that 2003 or XP cant? One strange bug i found was that installing office 2007 changes the spell check dictionary in Outlook Express to French and its the only dictionary available! The fix is to install the dictionaries from Office XP!

MP asks UK.gov: Why are you still using IE6?

David 155
WTF?

Whats the point?

To me, IE7 hasnt been any faster or more reliable. Tabs are useful, but not essential. So why bother?
