I've forced the OS to send resolutions that high to smaller CRTs before but that doesn't mean it's properly displaying all 2048x1536 pixels. The monitor only has so many phosphor dots, beyond that limit it's just aliasing.
I also found with CRTs that you could choose any two of the following when selecting a display mode:
1) High resolution
2) High refresh rate
3) High detail (i.e. low blur)
I think you'll find that the most reviled group in the USA these days is those who don't feel the need to subscribe to the folly of religion. Discrimination against non-believers is not only acceptable, it's encouraged.
By comparison, Americans are entirely comfortable with fat people.
Cars. You are not allowed to parallel import new cars. It's even quite difficult to import cars that were never sold locally. The legacy of once having a large local automotive manufacturing industry.
Some cars, particularly those sold in lower volumes, can cost more than twice as much here as they do in the USA, and still quite a lot more than in Europe or Japan. Even cars built here, when they were sold in the USA until a few years ago, went for much lower prices than they did on the local market.
This is something nobody expects to change, unfortunately. It's nice to dream about a particular car until you realise that if you lived somewhere else you'd already own it because it's $30k there instead of $70k.
A person earns or commands respect through their actions, not their beliefs.
Your suggestion that this is equivalent to gay/civil rights is way off base because that's a question of human rights. A person certainly should have the right to believe what they want, but when they publicise those beliefs or use them as justification for doing (or not doing) something it immediately becomes a question of evidence and rationality.
I had one. It never missed a beat, and was fun as hell with its reasonably advanced suspension design (for the era and market segment), RWD and skinny tyres. I miss that car.
Now every idiot wants one so they can put a rotary engine in it, and as a result they cost far too much.

Unless the problem you had with TPG was in the phone line and not TPG's infrastructure, in which case even that won't save you.
That said if iiNet buys TransACT maybe they'll become competitive as a carrier. They'll also have the backing of a decent national ISP after all TransACT's lies about opening up their network to the major ISPs. That might be a good outcome for Canberra.
Neutrinos tend not to interact with matter, and anyway they're not photons so optical fibres would be unlikely to help even if they weren't so weakly interacting.
To give an idea of how weakly interacting there are, the solar neutrino flux at the distance of earth's orbit from the sun is on the order of 10^14/m²s, and it takes gigantic detectors built in deep underground caverns containing tens of thousands of tonnes of water to pick up even a handful of them each year.
Upon reflection, not too long after hitting "Submit", this probability came to mind. Of course, there's often a divide between what they say they'll do and what they legally can do, which I suspect is in the customer's favour.

This is the mob that had a clause in their Ts&Cs (last time I checked, six years ago) stating that if they were faced with someone impersonating me on their phone banking line, and they "reasonably believed" it to be me, anything that person did with my money was my problem, not theirs.
Needless to say I didn't open a super account with First State.
They don't even seem to match it with i5s on a performance/dollar basis at those launch prices, much less on a performance/watt basis.
Still, historically AMD has taken a little while to sort out power issues on a new process or architecture, so the next revision will probably be a different story.
