1) Pretend to be an old dodderer and lead them on (thus wasting their time and running up their phone bill) and just before they get to the bit where they have your information, tell them to bugger off.
(My last ones were on for 20 mins and 15 mins respectively). Great fun!
2) Have a VERY LOUD whistle handy near the phone.
BOTH methods can be used consecutively for maximum enjoyment.
When my daughter's Galaxy Note developed a fault under warranty, O2 who it was bought from, refused to accept it was a fault and tried to charge for repair. Samsung themselves sent a prepaid bag and repaired it under warranty and totally free of charge.
I managed to screw compensation out of O2 for all the hassle they gave us (long story!).
O2 permanently LOST 2 customers. As far as I was concerned, Samsung improved their already excellent reputation.
.......however much you spend......clouds are subject to wind and pressure and can blow away.
ie: if your internet connection fails (and they do) your cloud is just expensive, empty sky.
And, if you outsource, not only will you not get any sympathy, it will cost extra. (Where else do you think that $3.3bn coming from? - YOUR pocket!!!!)
Agreed - VM fix any problems quickly and give you money back for excessive (many hours) downtime (does NOT happen very often!!).
My girlfriend had SKY and quit when they tried to charge her extra because she was NOT taking the TV package!!!!!. Their wireless router was CRAP as well.
Agreed it is a pity VM are not rolling out their excellent cable/fibre everywhere, 'cos who the hell wants to suffer BT with their pricey fibre? Certainly not my g/f. BT stands for Bunch of Tossers!!!!!!
I adopted a similar method of dealing with these nPower incompetents - I stopped direct debits, claimed a refund via my bank direct debit guarantee and complained to the regulator.
Finally got TWO out of date bills with unexplained items. Rejected the regulators "solution".
This is going to run and run.
Now I realise WHY - IBM and SAP - receipe for a MEGA-disaster if ever I saw one!
