And yet we (UK) spend less per head of our taxes on the NHS than the US spends (in taxes) on their own government backed health schemes.

The Linux Kernel started as a clone of an American OS led by a Finish bloke with many international contributors, with much of the user space written thanks to the American-originating GNU project (also with many international contributors)

It does depends on the flexibility of his current (previous) living situation. Banks/landlords take a dim view to missing mortgage/rent payments. Just got to hope there is enough in the account so the direct debits don't bounce.

I was going to do a breakdown of how much it would save with no prior commitments, then got sad at the cost of living.

In places where PV is most cost effective, air conditioning (for cooling) is a big current draw.

The whole point of leaving something to charge overnight is that you know you've got a full tank in the morning. Not to mention the economy7-esq night time power is cheaper.

I suppose that will change if solar gets a bigger slice of the pi, but with the UK's climate it's more cost effective to go with wind.

I shall be more specific:

The white space you have to worry about is on the same line as the markup, not somewhere further down the page where it's easy to confuse the nesting level.

The resulting errors tell you *something* is wrong, but the computer doesn't know what you mean, so places the error message where it runs out of pairs which might be nowhere near where the missing/extra brace is.

JavaScript and Python (and php etc) can be (and often are) JITed in the same way.

But then we have the likes of TypeScript , and a type hinting system for python 3.5+ so that doesn't hold water either.

Either way you are wrong about saying only one set of them matter.

YAML is just a way of representing markup in a way that you don't have to worry about matching closing brackets/braces.

It *is* fit for the purpose of being a markup language (Yet Another Markup Language). Shoe horning it into other purposes, or calling it a programming language is stretching things beyond reasonable-ness.

Just because YOU haven't heard of it, doesn't make it useless. There's more on heaven and earth etc

I honestly don't think that people who use antiperspirants or deodorants are a small sub-set. At least in the west - maybe it's different where you live. The bath bombs smell strong *while they are being used*. I would struggle to tell if someone had used one that morning.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of the "dousers", but that requires repeated and generous applications. Otherwise the smell just doesn't last that long.

Literally typing this on my just arrived A2 lite.

It's replacing a nexus 6p with the much maligned "software update buggers battery" fault followed by battery replacement eventually causing a unrecoverable bootloop.

First impressions: slightly smaller, but better to hold. shame about the notch. Feels nippier.

Cost me £121 compared to the nexus 6p's £350 when new. I don't see anything in the mid to high end market that's worth paying several hundred pounds more for.

NFC? Can count on one hand the number of times I used it on the 6P. It's got a finger print sensor and an SD card slot. IP68? Nice to have but not worth the cost.
