The tuner in a Sky box only supports a limited number of transmission parameters, controlled by Sky. Despite having an "other channels" function, it is not as open as a FTA satellite box.

This article reads as an anti-BBC rant, when in fact it is a project being undertaken by 7 companies, and is unworthy of The Register IMO.

Can't blame them for that, there isn't the capacity on Freeview for more HD, largely because OFCOM wants to sell off part of the spectrum after analogue switch off.

Why, however, a public service broadcaster such as C4 is excluding it's channels from Freesat is a pertinent question to ask.

Correct Richard, there is no possibility that Film 4 could have been on Freeview so it being described as "a blow" is nonsensical.

The question that should be posed is why as public service broadcaster, Channel 4 has chosen not to make it's 4HD service available on Freesat.

A message sent from a friend's O2 phone to my O2 phone reached mine, apparently from a completely different number on Saturday evening. Replied to the number it claimed to come from and they'd no idea who I was, and that number isn't in either of our contacts list.

Looks like the N78 but with proper buttons. The N78 I have is a decent enough phone but the designer was clearly just having a laugh with the keypad.
