"Hook the latter up to a spare Sky dish feed and you’ll get un-curated Freesat channels from Astra 19.2E."
You mean 28.2E.

"State owned but advertising funded Channel 4 said it was "delighted" to be bringing its content to the channel, but we note that that delight doesn't extend to running its other offerings, including Film 4, E4 and More 4, on Freeview."
Can't blame them for that, there isn't the capacity on Freeview for more HD, largely because OFCOM wants to sell off part of the spectrum after analogue switch off.
Why, however, a public service broadcaster such as C4 is excluding it's channels from Freesat is a pertinent question to ask.
Correct Richard, there is no possibility that Film 4 could have been on Freeview so it being described as "a blow" is nonsensical.
The question that should be posed is why as public service broadcaster, Channel 4 has chosen not to make it's 4HD service available on Freesat.
"Freeview channels displayed correctly, but the signal from our Sky+ box was initially displayed at its standard 576p resolution, which left it with big black borders on either side of the image. We were able to correct this easily enough by using the ‘4:3 Stretch’ option within the on-screen menu. "
Actually it sounds very much like it was correct in the first place.
