For hifi wifi transmission the best air is no air
The second best is air that is completely unreactive to those wifi signals

"Can anybody guess why?"
Because nobody likes to admit that they have made a $100 million mistake. Usually there is more than one person involved in the decision and unless you have a complete regime change there will be no admission of fault.
In this case, Avon should be publicly applauded for being so open about the mistake and the fact they have decided to stop throwing good money after bad.
"customer satisfaction and profitability up considerably year on year"
...Customer satisfaction reaches positive numbers
I popped into PC World last week in need of a set of precision screw drivers so I could swap a laptop hard drive.
"Sorry sir, we don't sell screw drivers of any description" was the response.
Goes without saying that had I bought the hard drive from them then I would have been going straight to the tills for a refund
Having been a heavy laptop user for the past 10 years I now find full size keyboards awkward and horrible to type on.
I currently run a Dell XPS 15 which has a similar keyboard to this one. It is very nice to type on and an improvement on my older Dell. The separation between the keys and their shape makes for quite a pleasant typing experience. There isn't much if any flex either which is nice.
"the mall" in the subhead is not capitalised, so is not the definite article, i.e. The Mall (AKA Pall Mall) and so it would refer to the other usage of the word as a synonym for what us normal people call a shopping centre.
There are some malls in the UK, Bluewater (in Kent) refers to itself as a mall as does BIrchwood Mall near Warrington. I'm sure there are others!
"But don't just expect me to jump because you have "and other reasonable duties" in my contract."
Unfortunately, there is a reason why it's in your employment contract. You belong to them and if they ask you to jump then you either jump or face the possibility of it being used against you in a court of HR
Thats one the benefits of contracting... my "very specific" business insurance does not cover me when undertaking any tasks not specified in the contract
Ironically the only GTA missions I can think of that involve prostitutes are:
GTA III which had a couple of pick up and drop off some hookers in a set time missions
and
GTA San Andreas which had a the optional "pimping" missions which meant driving the girls around and protecting them from any abusive punters.
In all the missions a dead hooker equals failure
IIRC The killing prostitutes line comes from a daily mail article when GTA III came out. One of their journalists obviously had a very warped mind when they sat down to play it.
Give me a "B" graduate with an interesting bunch of projects on github over an "A+" graduate who only focused on their coursework.
Pros and cons with this approach
The problem with any job is that there will be large amounts of time spent doing stuff you rather wouldn't have to do. An "A+" grad has already demonstrated the necessary discipline needed to maintain focus.
The "B" graduate would probably start posting bollocks on el reg as soon as he/she got bored with whatever it is they are supposed to be doing for you
As someone who works as a contractor almost exclusively with SQL Server in companies who predominantly use SQL Server, I have never had the impression that "SQL" was synonymous with "SQL Server".
The one caveat is the occassional non technical user who tries (badly) to use the lingo.
"Yeah, but it would be tempting to jump on Ark Ship B just because you'd be instantly elevated to most intelligent person on the ship."
Most intelligent person on the ship up untill the meteor hits the planet.
There is a reason why all the thickos are put on Ark Ship B.
@boltar : Glass half empty today?
One possible solution could be to make small, low powered base stations which can chain or repeat the connection to a proper base station. Speeds might not be amazing but it would allow them to fill some of the obvious gaps in coverage

NO THANKS
"What an intolerant society we sadly live in..."
They aren't queuing up for a blessing from the pope.
They're queuing up and giving free advertising to one of the biggest companies in the world. A company hoarding a significant proportion of the worlds money and a company which will bend any rule it can to avoid paying tax.
At best they deserve to be forcibly removed from the pavement they are blocking
Try watching a bull fight (before they're banned), the matadors have a pretty high survival rate compared to the much bigger bulls

The harassment and hunt would take place over several hours until the herd is exhausted and make easy pickings. There is a reason why of all the Mammals we are one of the best adapted to long distance endurance running.
