Gotta try it

I skipped all of the "new" CS games after the original but this has my interest peaked. Especially the new game modes, they sound like a blast. This is what I feel like Blizzard should have done with Diablo. When you have a fantastic game built on sound principles running 10+ years you try not to screw with it too much. Innovate too little and you fall behind, try to innovate too much and you lose the structure that made the game great. Hopefully this gets it just right. Off to start Steam.

Far Too Fancy

Do any of you actually do all of this culinary workload after being a few pints in? Or the day after for that matter? Perhaps I am just lazy......

Mix equal parts cheddar cheese, Prego tomato sauce, and cream cheese in a microwave safe dish. Add a clove of pressed garlic. Microwave on high until it liquifies and makes a huge mess. Pull it out to cool. Microwave 2 Red Baron 5 Cheese Garlic French Bread Mini Pizzas. Cover in prepared sauce. Add some ground pepper. Eat with fork.

!!Bouns Points!! Add A1 Steak sauce if desired.

Ignorance is the real problem. People see something like 25,800 Bq and they go "OOOOooooooo big numbers" without really understanding what that number represents. Then they point to it and go "Big numbers bad, no power for you" and slink back into their super overpriced homes to watch mindless drivel on the tele like good little citizens. I'll take a nuclear plant in my neighborhood and a 75% reduction in power costs thank you.

Being from the US I've never had the pleasure of sampling various UK products but was intrigued by the idea of "Salad Cream". Luckily with the Olympic Games being hosted in London several major supermarket chains have seen fit to bring in some "International Items", on of which being the aforementioned cream. I must say, I find it delicious and indeed "Pourable Sunshine". Thank you UK, now I'm off to find some "brown sauce".

Re: No ketchup on anything i eat

That may be a by-product of your "ketchup". In my time in Europe I learned to enjoy mayonaise as a primary condiment because of how terrible the tomato-paste-in-dirty-water that Europe's "ketchup" is. Once I returned to my side of the pond I continured my use of ketchup.

WTF are you talking about???

This warrents an article on El Reg? Its called a Website. They have been around a long time and will continue to be as long as you pay for one.

Your problem is that even though you close your article with how you would pay for a service, in reality you won't. Otherwise you could create a simple website from most hosting tools and post whatever you want on it secure in the knowledge that as long as you continue to pay your "rent", these files will continue to be hosted. But because it costs money this has never crossed your mind which tells me that you are less worried about actually keeping this information in a presentation state and more interested in doing it for FREE. This is a non-article. Now go away.

Apple's "Patents" are patently crap

I can't really belive that someone allowed Apple to patent some of the things they did anyway. They basically patented the shape of a rectagle for fks sake. It isn't innovative and certainly not protection worthy. That would have been like giving Dell a patent on Square monitors. Patently crap.

What you can see

What you won't see: Any serious investor crying over how much he lost in the Facebook IPO.

What you will see: People who thought they were going to flip a large profit on the first day complainaing, followed by self-righteous people telling everyone that has money to invest how dumb they are (while wishing they actually had money to invest). Tucked off to the side are the investors that realize that all FB has to do is monetize it's mobile app and it will become a cash cow. Or not, but that is what diversification is for.

I was the same way for a long time. Wouldn't touch a credit card. Then I realized that as long as I pay it off every month then my credit rating goes up and my interest rates go down so I keep more money on other purchases. Plus I get 1% cash back as reward points. Just make sure that you get a card that doesn't have a fee (90% of them do). I'm getting "free" money in points, it is convenient, and I'm covered several ways from misuse.

Glad people are fighting this

Until we have people in the decision-making chairs who understand how the Internet actually works (and can look at the problem through clear eyes instead of campaign contributions and lobbyist) we need to stay way from this kind of legislation. The courts and Congress need to catch up to the technology before making decisions about how everyon needs to act with it.

Hey! I just got a great idea! Maybe we could impose term limits on Congress and get the 80 year old, wrinkly, power hungry, blind ghouls out of there and get some people who are paying attention and have a clue about the current state of things in. (of course if half of this country paid attention and voted out these idiots we wouldn't need term limits. Oh well)

Indifference is the word

I don't care if she lined up 15 dead horses and had a naked orgy on them and I don't think anyone else should either.

We (as a planet) spend way too much time preoccupied with what other people are doing. We also waste far too many resources on animals for no apparent reason. Tree huggers will be quick to point out that it is "a precious life form" but don't mind swatting bugs, using antibacterial soaps (the ones that use soap), etc. because those life forms are a direct inconvenice to them. Personally I don't care at all what you do with animals as long as it is within the law, it doesn't inconvenience me, and you clean up your mess. The fact that we have homeless people that are actually looking for help that can't get any while PETA holds fully catered rallies shows how stupid the whole "pets are people too" crowd really are. If our ancestors had been that idiotic we as a species would have died out long ago.

Not for the Single Player, Mulitplayer Gold

Like the article says, if you want an immersive single player campaign then this game is not for you. I have never finished a Battlefield single player campaign even though I own 4 of them.

This is THE game for mutiplayer combat on extremely detailed maps. And the vehicle aspect is almost perfectly balanced in this iteration (being Engineer myself I like to see tanks blow up a little quicker but that may be bias). The huge maps very clearly define the "anything goes" attitude of the game. Seriously, if you bail out of a jet at the wrong part of the map you have a really long walk ahead of you. At the same time the smaller maps are filled with nooks and crannies to explore/get your face shot off from. 15 thumbs up, this game (multiplayer) rocks.

Trokair 1

Don't know

I liked being Commander every once in a while too.

That being said I didn't realized that there wasn't a commander option until I was hit by a mortar and wondered where it came from. I'm not sure it is something that will be missed from many people as it basically had one player on each team staring at the map for the whole game. And if you didn't have someone doing that it could be a major drawback for your team.
