macOS High Sierra more like 'Cry Sierra' for Mac-wielding beta testers

Does anyone really....

Not wait until 10.x.1 comes out???

Normally a short wait and a Load of bugs squashed...been my way of handling an OS X upgrade since 9.2

Is it me?????

Ok, could be me if it is im sorry, but I need to ask...what's happening with the iPhone app?Did I miss something that said it gone, dead, an ex-app??

It's not loading any stories, the mobile version of the webpage works, but it's not as good as the app was (imho)

Tell me what's going on,

Microsoft sez soz over Windows 10 'freebie' balls-up

Small Wee Jobbie

Just give it away for free,

that way you get everyone on the system in the shortest amount of time. I may be wrong here, and I'm sure that I will be told very quickly if I am, but the OEM licenses and corp stuff is where the big money is now. If so then just give the damn thing away and get as many as poss off XP, Vista even 7.

Testing Windows 10 on Surface 3: Perfect combo or buggy embuggerance?

Win 8 love it or hate it....

well actually 8.1, did work really well IF you had a touch screen. If you didn't then adding classic start seems to make it a very usable OS. I tried the early win 10 previews on a duel boot and was impressed with what MS have done, then it went and crashed my system to the point I had to rebuild, so will be waiting for a stable version before I go back for another look.

Could this be the end of PCWorld????

Wouldn't it be a shame if PCWorld came to an end.....ok maybe not, but it might give the smaller PC retailers a chance.

Just tried it...

and was surprisingly impressed.

I do miss the links to the comments at the bottom of the page, but apart from that looked good to me.

Legally - if you have already downloaded the page and this just re-renders it I can't see Apple having a problem

It's not all bad....really

I couldn't let this pass without commenting - in Ireland we already have this - if you work with children you have to get Garda (Police) clearance. If you want to go with the kids on a scouting weekend, or local football team same procedure.

You do it once, get your form filled in - sent off and if it comes back you can give a copy to which ever club or association or whatever, want to work in a school, got the form ok then etc

If it doesn't come back then no scouts trip for you. End of.

Yes the UK government seem even more adept at loosing the keys to the database doors than the Irish government, but have it no you don't need to have it if you are a parent for your own kids, but you do for other peoples!

It's not perfect - I don't think that you can have a perfect system, but it does mean that if you work with kids that someone somewhere has checked you before signing the form to say off you go.

Apple won't take tablet to September iPod event, says mole

Megaphone

unless it IS a pod

OK, hear me out - This is an ipod event, if this thing is an ipod (of sorts) it would make sense that it would be at the September event - that would also mean that if it doesn't appear then it wont be running the iphone os.

Thoughts??

Great.....Nice one Sony

Just scrapped a Vaio LM - everyone agreed that the motherboard was dead and needed to be replaced! Cost too bloody much to repair, bought another laptop, now I find that Sony may have fixed it for free...I hate Sony....Bastards

But where does the electric come from?

I still can't get my head round the 'electric' car arguement. If you have to burn 'stuff' (coal, oil etc) to create electricity to fill up the cars where is the saving?

Some one help me understand

Seen too often.....

lots of comments here, talk of truecrupt, RAM disk cache etc. However most of the PC's left in my shop haven't even got antivius protection - These are basic users, problem creators, fuckwits etc, they can't even understand that stuff gets saved when they visit webpages.

I back-up the shit, do the repair/re-install - stick Picasa on it and ask it to scan the fucking lot - one quick scan through allows me to DELETE the whole lot (no not copy it) - so I don't get the mother of some 15yr old halfwit coming in screaming at me because of what was on the PC when she got it home.

Sorry for the rant, but for all the moral "I would never look at anyone's files" crap you sometimes have to look at a different perspective

Go Go Go...Good riddence

So much money spent on KERS with so little return - and the whole point was that it was to be utilised on normal road cars, now even that is impossible they dropped the white elephant.

Funny thing that it was the FOTO (F1 Teams Ass) that decided and not the FIA
