Kent Police clamp down on tall photographers

Thumb Up

Let's not forget that someone reported him

So thank you to whoever did that, probably brainwashed into thinking that anyone taking photos of anything is definitely a terrorist. (As is, naturally, anyone who has more than one mobile phone, or who has odd-looking stuff in their bin.)

I do like the idea of a national 'photograph a copper' day. We'd better have the backup of people to photograph the people photographing the copppers, just in case the photos are taken in an 'intimidating' manner.

Blears sackee nothing to do with TheyWorkForYou

A thousand voices cry 'Durr!'

OK, silly move to make with just a lack of computer-savviness thrown in.

Tinfoil hats to the ready, now. Did one of Hazel Blears' staff complain, or did the gub'mint office check the mail?

My money's on an apparatchik from Blears' staff complaining as it was probably their 'duty to point out any breach of civil service regulations' and not at all a 'let's lose this complainant their job'.

It's interesting that our glorious leaders are happy to have 'civil servants' being partisan when they're singing the praises of the party in power, but whine when it's the other way round.

Girls Aloud net obscenity case falls at first hurdle

FAIL

Madness

Any idea how much this has all cost? The bloke concerned has lost his job and will probably take some time finding a new one in the current climate, so 'we' have to pay him benefit. The court costs are doubtless astronomical on both sides, especially as this was a case likely to set a precedent so everyone would want a go. All for a net result of "It's OK to write violent smut about Girls Aloud".

Daft.

Pressure group demands UK apes China net filter plan

God help us, every one....

We're already on the slippery slope, but this will just make it steeper. We've already seen what happens when people run butthurt to the IWF over an image on Wikipedia - can you imagine the chaos that will happen if Government Departments get involved in similar censorship exercises?

And 'porn addiction'? What? The moral lobby groups tend to be very big on sweeping statements, but not so good on cold, hard evidence. There's not yet been a definitive study that proves cause and effect for porn and sex crimes. (Admittedly, that doesn't mean there isn't a link, but the theory isn't yet supported.) Mediamarch are just spouting rubbish in the hope that some people take it at face value.
