flawless install on my aspire one 16gb netbook but my daughters new Dell mini 10V suffered a critical kernal failure, re installed clean, had to upgrade video drivers and its been fine.
I am using the netbook remix but on the Dell when it failed it appeared to have installed the full version and filled the entire 8gb SSD!
Not perfect but all in all it works.

Scientists that publish after receiving govt funding and produce material that is false should not be working in any scientific field.
If they had any honour they would be getting out the ceremonial sword and the prayer mat and doing the decent thing.
How the fuck these people have kept jobs is beyond me anyone else who did this kind of thing would be fired on the spot for gross misconduct.

The interesting thing was the use of Sally Bowman as an example of how great the DNA database was, what they forgot to mention was that the match did not come from an existing record of an innocent person but from when the guy was arrested for assualt and a sample taken and compared to existing crime scene profiles and this was some time later.
I pointed out that it was wrong to preface a report on the retention of DNA of the unconvicted using a headline grabbing story which actually proved that the storing of unconvicted peoples DNA had no relevance in solving the crime. The story was used simply because the victim had a good PR spin.
Interestingly the ever resourceful plod arrested and DNA'd the postman as his prints where on the door so he was "at the scene", under the new and illegal guidelines his DNA will be kept for 12 years as it was an arrest for a serious crime in case he re offends again.
As for the Jill Dando Institute report, its drivel of the highest order and makes no sense even without the admission that it is drivel and makes no sense. I would suggest that the higher scientific bodies should be looking to strike off any of those involved in publishing it.

is why are the insurance companies giving conviction data to a trade association. Either that or they are getting it from the Plod.
If you declare a speeding conviction to your insurers that should purely be used to assess the risk on your policy and should not be given to the local panel shop. Additionally as almost all insurance companies now ask about all convictions or pending trials it wont just be motoring conviction data they hold.

I was born out of wedlock and grew up in a single parent family environment and last time I looked I have always worked, have never stolen or murdered and given my degree, post grads etc etc I am not that stupid either.

If you have ever had the "joy" of dealing with our inherently corrupt police and CPS you would realise that this is exactly what goes on in this country on a daily basis.
Given that the plod/CPS would have to disclose the expert "evidence" in advance it would be a simple task to amend the wikipedia page and refute the evidence on the day of the trial when the "expert" presenting it is on the stand,
Notwithstanding the fact that to be classed as an "expert" witness in a court in this country you need to affirm to the accuracy of your work and given how useless wikipedia is its hardly going to pass as a peer reviewed source of information for a case.
I am surprised the CPS are telling plod to use wikipedia in the first place, normally they just write the statement they need and get the plod to sign it.

In the UK your either guilty now or guilty in the future, there is no state of "innocence" for any of us.
Thats how the law works.
Just look at Wackys underling saying that DNA needs to be held forever so that people caught but not prosecuted are easier to catch as "research shows that the innocent reoffend within 6 years"
What a waste of money bringing a prosecution for writing a story (and a bad one at that) and waiting till the day of the trial to offer no evidence (typical CPS, they could and should have discontinued this at the very beginning)

Having Kazaa software on your machine isnt a crime. The only crime occured when the RIAA people connected to her machine and illegally downloaded the content.
So in theory, to make her guilty they themselves had to break the law in the first place. Effectively it was a sting operation.
So shouldnt the RIAA now be seeking a prosecution against the experts they employed to illegally fileshare?

Given that a power of arrest exists based purely on reasonable suspicion that a person may or may be about to commit a crime its an extremely thin standard of proof to obtain a warrant, even thinner if the Terrorism act 2000 comes into play.
The key issue is that prior to the introduction of the treaty the US didnt want to extradite him because they would have had to produce the equivalent of the MG6 to show what he had done and what he had accessed.
The new treaty has a much lower burden of evidence and can be based purely on "information", in this case probably because he said he did it!
As to the merits of the case itself that is a different matter, the fundamental difference is that this is not an even bilateral treaty in that we as a country cant extradite US citiziens with the same ease.
