HTC HD2 Windows Mobile smartphone

Been using WinMo for years ... Soon no more!

I just bought a TomTom, that's my first step in moving away from WinMo (I used TomTom for WinMo with a Bluetooth GPS receiver). I got tired of the constant Bluetooth problems and not being able to use my SW when I need it most.

WinMo used to be the most advanced Mobile OS out there. Slick, with more functionalities (remember the clunky but stable Palm OS?). Well, no more. Now it's a relic of how bad Micro$oft manages the maturing of its software. There are now plenty of other OSes to choose from.

Ultimately I am going to be waiting for this HW to be available on Android.

The Samsung Galaxy (the i7500) is in the new brochure but no price details or info about PAYG. The retentions guy new nothing about it. But O2 seem to still be pushing the Jesus phone - the only option for an early upgrade and you loose your loyalty bonus!

I use the latest Fedora 11 Linux on my G4. It runs great, and gives me access to tens of thousands of free applications.

Windows 7 to push up netbook prices

I much prefer to use Linux - Fedora 11, but Ubuntu will do. If netbook manufacturers insist on Windows, then I'll just wait for the Smartbooks with a dual core Snapdragon ARM CPU. Manufacturers have lost sight of the reason netbooks came into existence. Price, price, price. If Microsoft wants to add $50, they can keep it. It's the least functional, least attractive, least usable OS option anyway.

I stil won't buy a device without real keys.

I hope someone comes up with a deformable screen, that allows tactile responses. I hate looking at a keyboard while typing.

Oh, and it took me five seconds, to come up with a better design. I noticed that the space around the keys is, so you do not accidentially hit other keys. Well, wanna know what else prevents that? Bigger keys! ^^

So essentially, they are just making the keys bigger, but not all of it touchable. I would make the triangles point upwards, and fill a third of the empty spaces too. But still only react when touching the inner, downwards pointing triangle. And enforce minimum sizes for both triangle areas, in the patent license.

Because with those keys, companies will just try to fit more keys onto the screen, until you can't hit them properly again. Which was the source of the problem in the first place. :)
