still poor selection and poor quality?
is the quality still like bad youtube and terribly limited selected, like it used to be? we had a free trial and it was garbage
can they even do 5.1 yet?

how many single player games are worth £40? how many hours are most single player games to complete? many are about 8 hours. thats £5/hour to play a game. not great value.
maybe if games were £10 the resale market closing would be fine.
in the olden days games lasted much longer as all the dev works wasnt in visuals, it was in gameplay.
how about devs actually FIXING bugs in games rather than waiting for their next version. (EA im looking at YOU)
and what hifi too then? seeing as they recommend HDMI cables that can make skin tones look more real.... seriously.. nobody has ever been able to prove stupidly prices HDMI cables offer better anything over well made, standard compliant cables.
fair enough if you run over 15m on HDMI you need good quality cable and maybe a booster somewhere but some of the HDMI cable prices are ridiculous. trading standards NEEDS to do something as so many people are being ripped off. this isnt analogue. a data cable can either transmit its signal or it cant and you get noise.
so many companies try to sell you expensive cables. i actually think they tell their monkeys there is a difference..
landshark - i like that! thumbs up! i will be using that in future...
the thing i wonder is.... if the roommate had been straight, and it had been leaked out, would he be in such trouble? isnt it hard to try and claim the 'bias/homophobic' side of things? maybe he just didnt like him? have they found evidence of him being homophobic?
im not backing him up, as he sounds like a total twat, but how do we KNOW (not guess).
we have 2 of these: Sony NAS-SV10i: iPod dock (well, it seems the previous version & has DAB) and they are ok for the kitchen. they also talk to each other (i.e. stream to each other) as we have one of their media boxes connected to my home cinema/audio system. i can control them all via my iphone/android.
"While the pope is not the first person to be cybersquatted in the new .xxx domain – Sir Richard Branson recently recovered richardbranson.xxx from a squatter – this does seem to be the most comprehensive effort to trash an individual by linking their name to .xxx porn (and to promote a "competitor")."
hard how is it to 'trash an individual' who was in the Nazi youth and has covered up his child molesting priests? this is the least of worries for the 'king of the paedos'
bat-shit crazy cut and paste coming in from one of the top links
"Other scientists, called creation scientists, have a different idea about when dinosaurs lived. They believe they can solve any of the supposed dinosaur mysteries and show how the evidence fits wonderfully with their ideas about the past, beliefs that come from the Bible.
The Bible, God’s very special book (or collection of books, really), claims that each writer was supernaturally inspired to write exactly what the Creator of all things wanted him to write down for us so that we can know where we (and dinosaurs) came from, why we are here, and what our future will be. The first book in the Bible—Genesis—teaches us many things about how the universe and life came into existence. Genesis tells us that God created everything—the Earth, stars, sun, moon, plants, animals, and the first two people.
Although the Bible does not tell us exactly how long ago it was that God made the world and its creatures, we can make a good estimate of the date of creation by reading through the Bible and noting some interesting passages:
God made everything in six days. He did this, by the way, to set a pattern for mankind, which has become our seven day week (as described in Exodus 20:11). God worked for six days and rested for one, as a model for us. Furthermore, Bible scholars will tell you that the Hebrew word for day used in Genesis 1, can only mean an ordinary day in this context.
We are told God created the first man and woman—Adam and Eve—on Day Six. Many facts about when their children and their children’s children were born are given in Genesis. These genealogies are recorded throughout the Old Testament, up until the time of Christ. They certainly were not chronologies lasting millions of years.
As you add up all of the dates, and accepting that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth almost 2000 years ago, we come to the conclusion that the creation of the Earth and animals (including the dinosaurs) occurred only thousands of years ago (perhaps only 6000!), not millions of years. Thus, if the Bible is right (and it is!), dinosaurs must have lived within the past thousands of years."
LMAO... some people eh? doesnt China alone have more than 6000 years of history easily accessible?
i love the way he says as we add up the dates and then just plucks 6000 years from his religious arse.... its scary to think that these numpties are forcing this shite on children (and some really stupid adults)
i have started seeing android ones for around £70 now... thats a lot cheaper than an ipad. we use our phones as remotes for our various audio systems around the house, but since the apps dont multitask properly (its all sony homeshare stuff connected to amps & speakers) every time i do something else on my phone i have to dig through many DLNA folders again to get to the music. a simple 7" one we could dedicate to this would be a pretty decent alternative
3 samples do not make a real theory. imagine a bit of interbreeding now with 2 people with no chins (lots of regular humans are chinless wonders) - they would produce chinless wonders... but a new species they are not. how much variation is there in current human skeletons? loads... What about deformities? maybe they were all brothers & sisters?
also...
has anyone considered the tax implications? buy your games direct from MS and how does the UK get the tax? is MS a big tax avoider like the rest of the big companies? at least when people buy from a shop the shop has to employ people to sell them to you. that shop pays tax and the workers pay tax too.
@ Do yourself a favour once you've written that book, and get someone else to proof-read the punctuation eh?
yeah, i was in a rush. i wrote it in notepad whilst doing other things and didnt check it over. i dont think internet threads are the right place for nicely constructed prose to be honest.
i also dont bother with apostrophes either when online, as you can see :)
bummer. i am writing (of getting some ideas down) for a childrens book that i want to write for my son.
it would be annoying for all schools to suddenly be able to give out free copies if it goes well.
on the other hand - was mine the only school to just photocopy anything it wanted and only have 1 of certain books?
ref the Gruffalo woman - not much sympathy. we have 2 of the books as my son likes them. i saw the DVD in asda. £9 for 26 minute cartoon seems a rip-off to me!
why do kids need ebooks anyway? they are more expensive to buy, the ereaders cost more to initially purchase too and im sure little kids will break them easily. surely with austerity measures to us all we dont need to be wasting cash on such things? what is wrong with actual cheap books?
my onkyo 709 does dlna too but its a little akward to use. i much prefer using my sony and use my iphone as a remote as its very quick to scan through dlna stuff. it also helps that all my sony bar the ps3 can do this homeshare thing, basically a sonos system for a fraction of the cost.
well, vita is to limit piracy, so you cant blame them.
what propriety connections are you on about? my ps3 uses hdmi/optical and standard kettle power lead. my other devices use ethernet, RCA, hdmi and optical. i think they are all pretty standard...
maybe they assume if you can blow 7k on a TV that you wont be skimping on freeview? i.e. you will pay for sky/virgin. it does seem odd though. toshiba seem to be rocking again after a few years being quiet. i still use my Toshiba Regza 42" 42z3030d on a regular basis and its 4 years old. their new cell based 3d glasses TVs are supposed to be excellent reading reviews.
to be honest ive not really looked into 8. but after watching the consumer preview thingy on the website i feel like im having a seizure now!
im glad we just upgraded to win 7 here. its hard enough to keep my directors on windows and not bloody apple as it is. if they see this we will all be after macs... <shudders>
@"Perhaps you should try pulling you head out of your backside and read the article...."
another internet hard man hiding behind AC... how brave.
my last AMD card was a 6990 and it was shite for any opengl games. it was on a win7 machine. basically their drivers basically killed off the game Brink as many AMD users were getting worse FPS than with much older cards. in fact my nvidia 8800 outperformed it by some margin and that card was 5 years older. check the Brink forums and AMD responses to see how well they did.
it was all down to an apparent fudge of their opengl implementation, which nvidia were fine with.
not really. i bought a top of the line AMD card last year. so many issues. the devs just run through simulations to see how the driver fare, nvidia actually seem to play the game and see the problem.
the same games and the nvidia outperformed the AMD card by some margin, even though it had a lower spec.
the game devs were banging their heads against the wall with AMD while nvidia bent over backwards with performance increases.
considering overclockers only stock the 7970 and 7950 where do these show up as arent they older cards?
they might be the 'fastest cards' but if the drivers are shite then whats the point. never AMD again for me. they make great hardware but their driver guys suck, bigtime. a less powerful nvidia 99% of the time will get better results.
