1. The US Department of Justice can now aggressively prosecute Volkswagen instead of mildly handling it as it is now. It can seek punitive fines for fraud and breaking EPA law on a massive scale that are triple the damage. So Volkswagen potentially faces bankruptcy because of a $80 BILLION FINE from the United States. Tit for Tat. Or as President Roosevelt said, speak softly but carry a BIG STICK. Hammer it to Volkswagen.
2. When Great Britain - and Ireland - completely separate from the European Union - this judgment will become moot. Ireland will no longer have to pay attention to the ruling. It will be INDEPENDENT and can set its own tax laws. This ruling further hammers to the British that they want no part of the European Union.
Samsung is the one in trouble.
The Qualcomm 810 Snapdragon hasn't yet been released. It is overheating. The 820 won't come out until mid-2016.
This leaves Samsung with its much slower Exynos 8-core chips where only 4 are used at the same time.
The S6 is in trouble. It is so much slower than the Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it is non-competitive at the high end of the market. And it will be killed by the lower end competitors.
Steve Wozniak's dementia has progressively worsened. He already forgot that Apple created the iPhone, He forgot that Google copied the iPhone to create Android. Woz is confused and did not realize that Apple making an Android phone would be the same as making a copy of a copy of the original iPhone. Uh why? are the right words.
Sure, SSDs are the future.
The problem is that SSDs are extremely expensive and they last a shorter time than Hard Disk Drives.
So even if you get an SSD, how are you going to back up the data??? On inexpensive Hard Disk Drives, of course.
For one SSD, one can buy up to 10 hard disk drives. It is a no brainer that one needs at least 3 back ups for one drive. For this, Hard Disk Drives are the solution.
SSDs will NEVER go down in price for the foreseeable future. Because of this, hard disk drives will always have a need and a future.
Yelling "Fire!" in a crowded auditorium can lead to a stampede and death to the customers in the auditorium.
Thus, Yelling "Fire!" in such a situation is prohibited and is NOT protected free speech.
Neither is speech designed to create riots, crime, vandalism, violence, and public mayhem.
Shutting down such speech is the correct thing to do.
PostgreSQL is actually BETTER than MySQL.
1. PostgreSQL has the far more useful BSD-style license. This allows Apple to change the source code at anytime and keep the changes proprietary.
2. PostgreSQL is FAR MORE SECURE than MySQL.
3. PostgreSQL is FAR MORE STABLE and CRASH-PROOF than MySQL. Yes, MySQL can be faster, but it is more prone to crashes.
Additionally: Oracle's CEO and majority owner, Larry Ellison, is Steve Job's long-time BEST FRIEND. Oracle would NEVER sue Apple. Apple chose PostgreSQL since it is BETTER than MySQL.
If you can't afford a Mac, then you are simply too poor. That's all. Get a better job or a second or third job.
The problem of any other PC is that it is NOT a Mac. It will NEVER run as sweetly, easily, quietly, beautifuly, virus-free, as worry-free and as asthetically pleasing as a Mac.
Other PCs are simply UGLY. They just don't get the design LOVE that is given to a Mac.
Apple has always been the most sued company in the world. It attracts lawsuits because it make so much money and has the most savings in the bank - 65 billion dollars and growing.
Lawsuits are nothing. Apple does a great job at winning lawsuits and minimizing its risks. Apple has a very deep patent portfolio. Apple also punishes those it sues.
Gizmodo confessed to the crime in its article. It was a voluntary confession - for all the world to see.
It stole Apple's prototype, took it to New York, dismantled it, and wrote about it to the world.
The prototype is worth millions of dollars.
Guess what? It is Grand Theft.
Someone is going to prison for several years.

According to SDI's Mobile & Social Media Study: Physicians' Views of Emerging Technology, approximately 30% of physicians access medical information using a handheld device or smartphone. The most popular handheld device or smartphone is the Apple iPhone, with 31% of respondents owning one.
Doctors are more likely to be using the iPhone than any other phone for providing health care to their patients.
Thus, the pundits' arguments against the iPhone is moot.
The iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad SDK rules are that you only use public application programming interfaces, not private application interfaces. Only frameworks, therefore, that Apple has approved can be used for developing applications for the OS X platform.
These applications were busted for using Apple's private frameworks and APIs. Thus they are to be taken down. Apple, for example, doesn't allow direct connections in programs to some of the hardware.
There is a fence that these programmers crossed. Simple.
Apple is simply smarter than other companies.
Apple also GOES THE EXTRA MILE to connect with media companies so that its users will have a great selection.
Apple also GOES THE EXTRA MILE to design their products so well, users feel immediately empowered and comfortable and at ease when using their devices.
Apple also GOES THE EXTRA MILE to create an ecosystem for its products. Competitors do not realize that they have to create an ecosystem to compete with Apple. They also realize how difficult an ecosystem is to create. Apple is the only manufacturer that can so far create an ecosystem. Every one else makes parts of one, but not the whole. Only Apple can create the hardware AND the software AND the music, movies, podcasts, books and other media AND the platform FOR Third Party hardware and software that connect to each other and have Apple's computers as the hub.
You cannot compete against Apple unless you can create the entire widget. Apple is THE ONLY COMPANY that can create the WHOLE WIDGET.
The problem for everybody is that they all have different CPUs and different operating systems. Thus every cell phone type has conflicts with others. Apps have to specify exactly which cell phones - even within a single manufacturer's line - they are compatible with and not allow downloads to that cell phone. This becomes a huge complicated mess when it is done in one huge marketplace. It becomes a Tower of Babel. Users will be disappointed in that the market may show lots of software but so very little that runs on any particular phone.
Even then, it will take 2-3 years to implement this idea. This will give Apple an EVEN BIGGER lead in smart phones.,
I block Flash using Click-to-Flash so that I only have to activate it when needed for specific areas of a webpage. The other areas - such as Flash ads - I leave completely blocked. Thus if advertisers want to reach me, they will have to use HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, Ajax, and H.264.
Flash sucks. Flash causes almost all the crashes on my computer. Flash makes my computer hugely less secure to hackers.
Flash is dead like the Floppy disk.
It is so interesting that one needs a specific SDK for every variant of Android and that each variant has problems running versions for the other variants of Android.
This must be a nightmare for developers to support. This fractures Android into incompatible versions and lowers the potential income for developers and increases the costs for developers to support each version of Android.
Linux has become bloated and huge.
Mac OS X has become much slimmer and faster. Mac OS X generally is faster with every iteration, not slower. With Mac OS X Snow Leopard, it has also become much much slimmer.
Perhaps, Linux developers can use Apple as an example of where to go.
Battery life on the Pre is laughable. You have to carry an extra battery along with the Pre to equal the iPhone. With the iPhone, you can also carry an external battery if you want it to last a lot longer. In this scenario, the iPhone wins by a long short.
Software and Ecosystem - the Pre will NEVER catch up to the iPhone. Just look at the iPod and all its competition. None were ever able to create a viable ecosystem.
The iPod Touch is a HUGE complement and weapon to the iPhone. The iPod Touch doubles the effective market for iPhone apps. This kills any other platform. Soon, Apple will add a camera/video phone to the iPod Touch. This kills the competition.
The iPhone/iPod Touch not only competes against the smartphones, they compete against: The handheld gaming market (Nintendo DS/Sony Playstation), the small camera market (Sony, Canon, Nikon). the pocket Video Camcorder Market. The iPhone is a viable competitor against these products and thus can do much more than the Pre. The iPhone kills the Pre.
8% of Teens having an iPhone is amazing!
You have to remember that Apple wanted 1% of the cell phone market.
Realize that Teens within 1-5 years become ADULTS!
Thus, Apple is actually grabbing for a HUGE amount of the total cell phone market, not just the smart phones.
Over time, Apple 's marketshare can grow easily to over 25% of the total cell phone market as more and more teenagers with iPhones become adults with iPhones, and those with other phones die away.
