Typical lovely liberal attack with no empirical evidence to back it up. Evil white people murdering minorities with impunity. Unfortunately, actual crime statistics don't back up that assertion. Although only comprising 12% of the population, from 1980 to 2008, blacks accounted for 56.9% of all homicides, or broken down demographically:
"Blacks were disproportionately represented as both homicide
victims and offenders. The victimization rate for blacks (27.8
per 100,000) was 6 times higher than the rate for whites (4.5 per
100,000). The offending rate for blacks (34.4 per 100,000) was almost
8 times higher than the rate for whites (4.5 per 100,000)" -U.S. Department of Justice
Office of Justice Programs
Bureau of Justice Statistics November 2011, NCJ 236018
Sorry lefties, Trayvon was the exception, not the rule. Where the victim/offender rate is identical for whites, 4.5 per 100,000. For blacks, the victimization rate (while appalling), 27.8 per 100,000, is significantly lower than the offending rate, 34.4 per 100,000. They are victims at a lower rate than they are offenders. I know. Sometimes facts suck.
"Eye of the Beholder" - When Ashley Judd naked isn't enough to make it watchable, it's really, really bad.
Have to agree with the poster above about "Random Hearts" - Kept thinking, "This has to get better at some point!"
"Manos: The Hands of Fate" - So bad it's great.
"Troll 2" - Right up there with Manos.
Most health insurance plans DO cover birth control! Georgetown and other Catholic universities CHOOSE plans that specifically do not. If you don't like the policies of a PRIVATE university concerning healthcare coverage, I have an idea for you.... Pick a different school!
This has been a put-up job from the get-go. The "23" law-student, Fluke, is more likely 30. She graduated with her undergrad degree in 2003. A WaPo story on her BEFORE she was to testify has this excerpt:
"Fluke came to Georgetown University interested in contraceptive coverage: She researched the Jesuit college’s health plans for students before enrolling, and found that birth control was not included. “I decided I was absolutely not willing to compromise the quality of my education in exchange for my health care,” says Fluke, who has spent the past three years lobbying the administration to change its policy on the issue. The issue got the university president’s office last spring, where Georgetown declined to change its policy."
If the story about her anonymous cherished "friend" who lost her ovary due to the pernicious policies of the Georgetown administration are even true, it begs several questions:
1. Why did Women's Contraceptive Rights Champion Sandra Fluke do nothing to assist her?
2. Why did she not go to Planned Parenthood or any of the numerous free clinics in the DC area?
3. Where were the woman's family and friends during this time?
So we are to believe that the woman had a serious medical condition, went to the university clinic, got turned down, and went "gee, I guess that's that." ?????
Come on sheeple. Whatever your opinions of Rush Limbaugh, this entire story stinks. And it isn't the unkind words of Rush Limbaugh that are smelling up the place.
Not that I would ever want the facts to get in the way of a good rant, but dude (or dudette)... really... quit getting your hysterical (sorry) historical facts from the DNC talking points memos. Just couple of unfortunate facts:
Slavery - Black Africans selling black africans to white dutchmen to white southern DEMOCRATS
President that ended slavery - Abraham Lincoln..... REPUBLICAN
Authors of Jim Crow laws - DEMOCRATS
Authors of the 1875 Civil Rights Act that tried to challenge Jim Crow laws - REPUBLICANS
President that segregated federal offices that had been desegregated since the Civil War - Woodrow Wilson.... DEMOCRAT
Of course, it is much easier running around calling people asshats than actually doing a little research or picking up a book on proper grammar.
Bye the bye, 45+ C (Celsius really? Not a natural born citizen?) isn't that bad. It's a dry heat.
I'm for leaving my PCs running, but won't go foaming at the mouth if you want to turn yours off. The one argument that the "turn it off" folks never seem to address is the increased hardware failure rates when they are turned off. I've had the same experience an earlier poster has. I've never had a PC die when powered up. I've had plenty die when trying to power them up.
Look at it this way. If increased CO2 emissions concern you more than hardware failure, the boot up wait time allows you to hug more bunnies. It's a win-win!
