Google Adblock shock a load of cock – users mock post hoc

MJI Silver badge

Re: Abort!

I HATE Classic FM, there I am driving along listening to the local BBC station travel report and suddenly the effing CFM travel report comes on telling me about issues I do not give a shit about as they are NOT on my commute.

CFM is NOT even tuned in on my radio!

Re: Simple solution for google

Advertisers brought it upon themselves.

I started blocking adverts when they invented pop up adverts, and hover over, and animated, and noisy ones.

Non animated quiet banner ads NEVER bothered me, I find the new craze of drop down menus stuck at the top of a web page much more irritating.

Re: Justice

Just think, image it was YOU that was accused, but of course you were nowhere near.

Would YOU be happy bieng denied anonymity?

MJI Silver badge

Rape accusations

I think there should be anonymity towards suspects unless found guilty.

All accused have to face a lifetime of "Did he do it?"

They need the same protection as the accusers.

But then I think there needs to be different levels of rape as masked at knifepoint is not the same as two pissed out of their mind people.

This has to be discussed as open minded adults and not gut reactions.

Many recent blockbuster games have versions with no DX and no Windows. See the PS4.

That uses BSD a sort of Free Unix, like Linux.

I think if they can do a PS4 version a Linux version is not that hard.

Hmm some interesting drives there

MJI Silver badge

I want to try this

But I have a no data package as the bill is paid by work. But it would be great to pre load at home or work via WiFi then use it in the wilds.

Also many places with no phone signal, which I noticed once before taking on a rather deep ford.

But if good I would be tempted to get a tablet for this, something like the Hudl.

Hmm my 2008 and 2010 Sony BD players still do IPlayer and the ITV version.

And also play games

Still seems like the best idea.

Too many out there to remove support from, with reasonably savvy users who know who to complain to.

MJI Silver badge

Re: Poor choice of words?

I think you may be right about the noises.

The only places I can get a complete undisturbed nights sleep is in the middle of nowhere, traffic noise is horrible, but wind in trees - yawn, zzzzzzzzzzz.

I seem to be managing on 6 or so hours after disturbances.

Next few games

Well I have been looking

For a start until the pricing is sorted (£40 <> $40) I will be avoiding Destiny year 2 DLC The Taken King. Activision are greedy sods and should be retailing for £30 at most for the DLC.

But look what comes out soon.

Fallout 4, I enjoyed 3 and NV so really looking forwards to it.

And next year Uncharted 4, my most anticipated game.
