LG to offer subscriptions for appliances and televisions

MJI Silver badge

Problem for them is

I still see Lucky Goldstar as a cheapish reasonable kit company, not a top end one.

Why would I spend a lot for them AND a subscription?

MJI Silver badge

Re: piracy warning

I stopped buying them due to that, also when I had to rip and burn rentals to avoid copywrite shite it was the end of DVD more or less.

MJI Silver badge

Re: Get stuffed both of you!

I bought an AAA game in a sale late last year £25, 200 hours of fun, huge studio, was orignal. Gave up waiting for a PS5 (orignal no purchase reason), so got PS4 version.

Looks amazing even on a 10 year old console.

Horizon : Forbidden West.

Very difficult explaining without spoiling but near end a great alternative to fast travel. They actually made a game to have fun in and delight the player.

Re: Brexit may be cheaper for MS

Arkane pulled, Bethesda pulled, does anyone care about COD?

That said 2 console generations ago COD players invaded a FPS I used to play, they could not hack a slow tactical FPS.

Not getting a dirctXBOX as I still have it in for MS after causing me tons of extra work, and slowing our main software down, (RIP Netware)

MJI Silver badge

Fuc.k Activision

What about Arkane and Bethesda and the cancelling of already in progress Playstation versions?

But it is what they had, and still quite cheap.

And different levels of shielding.

Worst - composite only

Low - only shielded as a whole

Good - all wires shielded

BEst - shielded as much as possible and good construction techniques.

Re: Poor design in my opinion

SCART I did find an improvement between my £10 and my £40 cable, the cheapest SCARTs were unusable due to lack of wires.

When the display was top end and the source RGB you can tell. Basically a cleaner picture.

It is heavy though!

MJI Silver badge

Re: Poor design in my opinion

My DVD SCART was £40.

I found it a bit better than a £10, which was 100x better than a cheapo one.

That TV did not appear to convert RGB to component to RGB but run RGB straight through from any RGB source, it was a Digital Wega.

Re: Maybe not.

Yes, the ones with systems which they can afford and enjoy using for the music.

(OK my amp was £500 and my front speakers around £450, and they are over 20 years old)

MJI Silver badge

Re: Maybe not.

Same here. My cheapy TT has failed and I have about 20 LPs still.

I use a DVD player now for CD as it is pretty good for CD. It is a Pioneer.

Re: Poor design in my opinion

Digital signal.

Buy something mechanically well made and solid.

Analogue signal

Buy something very well shielded and decent thickness.

As i own a premium quality SCART lead I can tell where the VFM is.

I could tell between a cheap SCART and my good SCART, all due to better shielding in the cables.

My HDMI are decent mechaical quality but no different picture wise to a freebie one.

Speaker cables, just thick wire, biwired due to I had it.

All is base audiophile/AV system level. Good enough to last and not ruin the picture or sound.

I also run Castle speakers.

Yes brexshit was a religion rather than a sensible move.

And it is failing, however the fall out will result in the death of pound sterling.

Of people my childrens age, so far one is a leaver, most of the rest are rejoiners, a few have no opinion, the two youngest had no choice, and they have to live with it.

Yes rejoin with the euro, free movement, just what the leavers wanted as we had an excellent deal, best in the EU. It will happen.

They may let us have King William on the euro currency though.
