You say I mustn’t write down my password? Let me make a note of that

Re: XKCD

It sounded familiar, instantly recognised after a quick google, Cockwomble is a BOFH reference as well I think.

Space Hotels

Isn't this the same company that were going to take the big orange tanks the shuttles used, strap them all together in orbit and make a hotel out of them, I was wondering what happened to them.

You 'posted' a 'letter' with Outlook... No, NO, that's the MONITOR

Rob Quinn

All it takes it a little education, my nan (now 81) can quite happily use most features of her tablet and home PC after nothing more than 30 minutes of training, although she does trip up on the terminology sometimes.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Proof the pen is mightier?

Rob Quinn

I have the Note 10.1 which I thought was a great bit of kit which lead me to me getting the Note 2 as my current phone, again another good bit of kit with a good build quality, I wonder how I ever managed with a Sony Mini Pro now.

Infinite loop: the Sinclair ZX Microdrive story

Boffin

I still have a couple of Microdrive cassettes at home that I was given by a family member in a bin bag full of speccy games, thing was I never had the drive to run them, did have the interface 2 with the rom catridges which was so much faster than loading off an audio cassette.

Ten serious sci-fi films for the sentient fan

Rob Quinn

Not sure if it's classed as sci-fi but how about Thirteenth Floor or I Robot or A.I.?

I do now.

Has Microsoft finally killed off Windows 8 Start button?

Rob Quinn
Thumb Up

Yeah it is a bit stupid they haven't sorted this out yet, I use a program called Ultramon to get this affect, does the programs on screen filter for the tool bars and has some other good features, 30 day trial but you can just uninstall-reinstall to get another 30 days.

Honda NSX reborn as a hybrid

Rob Quinn
Pint

It says Concept on the plates, but the actual released Civic looks a lot like the concept, maybe Honda have worked out we all want the concept cars, not what comes out after the beancounters have put thier knife to the projects.

Boffin's bot spots red light jumpers before they kill

Rob Quinn
Stop

Why not have a system similar to speed cameras, turn them on facing the crossing when the light turns red so to record anyone going through the red light and giving them a fine, points or a driving awarenes course.

Chicago lawyer deploys distractionary dumplings

Paris Hilton

More like...

she looks more like Mayim Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler) from Big Bang and she's not the member of the cast that i'd call distracting, maybe if they had Kaley Cuoco there instead.

Paris because i'd like to see Kaley Cuoco in similar video situation.

Launcher Pro

Rob Quinn

Installed

I have just installed this on my X10 Mini Pro as well and am impressed over the stock launcher, although the favourites tab has gone from the top of the phone book, anyone know how to re-enable or show it again?

Hardware keyloggers found in Manchester library PCs

Rob Quinn
FAIL

Not Manchester

Handforth and Wilmslow are in North East Cheshire not Manchester, and it surprises me that they even found the devices with the slowness of the usually old and decrepit nature of the workers usually manning these facilities.

iPhone users get more sex than Android fans

Rob Quinn
Pint

Really?

I think the fact that iPhone users screw more probably has more to do with good looking fashion victim types buying the fashion statement who tend to get laid more than your average geek who wouldn't step foot in a night club if you poked them with a sharp stick, after all geeks aren't well known to be the "pretty" types.

Beers, cost everyone looks good after 10 pints.

Sneaky bin chipping still in the bag for UK.gov

Rob Quinn

Unusable Systems.

I'd like to see how they deal with people on my estate that don't use the same bin every week. Most people just grab the one nearest to there door as they have no numbers on any of the bins and the bin men tend to just dump them all in a row when they've done collecting.

DIMENSIONAL PORTAL INCURSION AT THE LHC!

Rob Quinn
Grenade

Now where did I put that....

Crowbars at the ready guys, it won't be long before the Xen hoards break through the insufficiant human special forces and the geeks will have to mop up the mess with a handy stick of metal and a zero point energy field manipulator.

Grenade for obvious reasons.

Web wags stage IE 6 funeral

Still Using IE6

Currently using IE6 on my work laptop as has been forced by our IT dept. Love the fact the funeral site doesn't render properly on this machine, must try it again later when I get home and use a real browser.
