Supremes reject Rambus 'patent ambush' case

Thumb Up

About time

The irony is it was the government that gave Rambus a legal monopoly by granting them patent rights for an enormous list of revolutionary patents. Then the FTC sues them for having a monopoly on the market.

It is only a matter of time before Rambus wins the rest of their court battles. The previous claims that Rambus committed spoliation are so ridiculous as to suspect the judge was either incredibly incompetent or potentially bribed.

They still take guns to school

One of my buddies went to a high school where many of the kids brought there guns to school. It was cool as long as they left their guns in the gunracks in their trucks.

On the other hand, you could probably not do that in a place like LA or Compton.

Forseen

I think Intel saw this coming years ago. Unfortunately, the memory industry didn't want to go with RDRAM and we were stuck with DDR SDRAM, which is completely inferior at all levels of speed to RDRAM.

RDRAM would have been able to scale. Now the mobo makers have to test all the paths that DDR SDRAM uses, which must be a real nightmare.
