You raise an interesting point. I'm somewhat interested in the idea of facebook killers, particularly because Facebook has a progressively intrusive form of trying to track non-facebook users. Sorry Zuck, but if I choose not to join your veal-fattening pen then you do not have the right to track me over the web.

Moreover, the idea that someone can operate without a facebook account seems akin to asserting that one doesn't venture on the web. The choice is: paedo or luddite. Pick one. Okaaaaaaaay.

The entire concept of social networks seems like such an utter bag of spanners that I'd rather sit this one out even if I do count myself as a well-wisher* to Ello / Diaspora et al.

* Well-wisher is the Moe Syzlak (sp?) version, in that I don't wish them any specific harm.

Bloody hell, between this and Batman you were a gaming God.

I remember one room (fairly early on) where there was an opponent - one of those little pepperpot thingies - sent to auto-seek you as soon as you entered. The trick was that if you moved to a certain location you could jam it against the scenery. This was a very early introduction to metagaming for this once-teenager.

I remember one of the reviewers (Marcus, IIRC) for Your Sinclair being stuck on the Safari world shortly after its release. I remember my joy at being able to work out this puzzle for myself, and wrote down the instructions for the puzzle. I remember salivating at the idea of getting my name in YS, for my Warholesque fifteem minutes.

Anyway, it seemed that month pretty much everyone other than Marcus worked it out that same month and I didn't even get a mention.

Still bitter, hence the icon.

Thankfully, there's a mod to disable this. Didn't know this when I went through BG2 though, to my loss.

Was quite amused by the nods to BG1/11 in Mass Effect 1/2 -the space hamster (with genuine Boo squeak) in the first one, and Tali's shouts in ME2: "Faster than Chiktika Fast-paws" and "Go for the Optics".

Also, el reg: may I humbly suggest that "Your email address is never published" be replaced with "Your email address is almost never published"?
