Nfc
I can't understand why they don't put nfc. My cheap (really cheap) Huawei has nfc built in.

If everyone wonders around with do not track enabled, sites (pushed by advertisers) will ship their "apps" which does far more than tracking analytics to win app store.
Every "app" will mean more distance from real, open web.
You don't need to be "Ph.D.", just look to app stores (especially Android, transparent permissions) and question if those "apps" of news sites can't be done with a new standards based mobile sites.
Never used win phone but it seems tile thing impressed everyone therefore there is "win 7" launcher, locker and keyboard on Android.
Guys, the design of Android from ground up guarantees that you can't race with it in UI & UX department. Its customization level is at Linux level. Even beyond that since even a 8 year old can change system default shell.
If you are ceo of a public company, you can't joke with numbers, predictions. That is what I know with my minimal financial knowledge.
This guy keeps joking, some investors keeps buying the numbers he make up and nobody including dead serious financial guys and lawyers don't dare to sue him.
So, is this guy somehow blackmailing them?
Seriously, even Zuckerberg didn't say "we will hit 2 billion users, bitch" like stuff after they went public.
BillG, please come back, we forgive you.
If you promote free software and live a poor man life with a CV a lot of Redmond/ Cupertino/ Armonk guys can only dream about, you have to be a little bit "extreme".
Do you think "free software" is just software? They want the information to be free. If you think he has extreme views, you haven't seen anything yet.
They say things today, they get flames by these "funny people" and years later, people say "oh they were right but did you hear (whatever weird unrelated thing) rms did in conference?"
Check the feedback rms got when he warned about Mono. Damn thing caused serious harm to core/ community of Debian via a stupid note taking application.
Years ago, the guy who "owns" the kernel wrote how stupid and alienating it is to write every freaking detail to boot screen while system (kernel) boots and it should stay silent as much as possible (unless error happens) instead of generating information overload.
Did everyone listen? No. I am sure even a $20 M exotic mainframe that may never reboot in its entire life displays less messages in boot.
I am not a person who is Gnu purist or Linux fanatic considering the machine I installed Debian to: a powerbook g4
For the same reason I went with Debian (just to get rid of unsupported system), I selected "GUI" in initial install and you can't imagine my anger when I saw the degree of Mono infection in Debian, just for that stupid note taking application. You know what I did? Removed entire gnome.
Gnome's issue is not desktop, it is this disgusting, arrogant gang infecting their community and even gtk itself.
Things are really absurd in Android software scene lately. Even a freaking "go theme" requests "full network access" (aka server) without any stated reason (crash reports?) & gets hundreds of thousands users.
I am not saying they do evil things, most theme designers are artists, they can't even code basic. Thing is, something will happen one day and a lot of users (even including me) will learn their lesson in a bitter way.
We should, soon find an alternative. Something works, Gnu/FSF or Apache should start something by talking to Intel and AMD.
Or, IBM with their one of true open source licenses.
Virtual box is doing fine because of initial codebase. Companies like oracle can spoil everything.
They seem to understand the degree of vulnerability finally.
A USA government backed organisation, CERT could not get a word from them just 24 hours ago and (I suppose) had to suggest removing Java functionality from desktop browser. Instructions (thanks to win) were way complex so a lot of people ended up removing Java for good.
If they are serious, they should hire a real win developer that will code a real installer. Ask any win admin, they are using MSI in most basic and stupid way possible, ignoring built in win scheduler that can even automate security updates (for all users, not just admin) and ignore patching possibilities.
Apple actually works with such people and does all above with their "software update" on win.
It will sound weird to non Android users but Chinese took over the ui scene on Android long time ago.
Go launcher is undisputed king and new comer TSF shell manages to sell beta version for $20 which muted everyone.
Huawei should have licensed/ customized existing things instead of going with their own.
It must be hard for anyone who didn't born in 70s to understand the amazing thing. It talked.
Man, poor other 8 bit computer users, it was a shocking upperhand came from nowhere. "my Atari has 256 colors", "my game talks". Instant mute.
Also,c64 tape loading (thanks to turbo code) was light speed compared to Atari, spectrum etc. Weak machine on specifications, better developers...
Sorry but I noticed an unbelievable thing. If you check
http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/MORO-8XKL37
You will see even US CERT wasn't contacted in time of writing.
While on it, if you are a win user and have broadband, have no mission critical apps written in Java, easiest way to disable applets seems to be removing/uninstalling Java altogether. Using registry modification seems absurd to me.
I just had this url in my inbox and I don't remember anything written in this tone for a long time from them.
http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/636312
Does it mean USA government will feel compelled to disable Java on their terminals too?
Do any person remotely connected with Oracle know what it means to have such a alert from an institution like that? Not it seems, nobody heard a out of band, emergency patch yet.
Having seen opera support all and more on mobile, I have yet to see one, single, real usage of webgl and especially standard cam input support.
All poor opera mobile got was "OMG changed permissions, 1 star!" comments from Android idiots who doesn't get a single clue from what opera and Firefox tries to achieve. Save the ignorant from spyware apps.
Although everyone likes innovation, the size and no backwards compatibility for mobile is and will be an annoyance especially for enterprise.
I am away from Mozilla community for a long time with bad memories but if you have a word there, know how to intervene, push for an ESR release for mobile. The powerful and tested extension tech with a stable version can be big deal for both Mozilla and Android in enterprise.
A central configuration, deployment tech can come later. Better hurry or Microsoft can surprise everyone _again_.
I really remember this "technology" blocking a safe download of a patch from a very big name (can't remember) saying it wasn't downloaded many times. I was ready to hit virustotal and Kaspersky to analyze file until I noticed the reason for "security alert": file isn't popular.
4 Gb is actually 32bit boundary, if Intel& Ms didn't do stupid things historically, there wouldn't be need for 64 bit OS.
A person buying something other than tablet in this age is clearly looking for power and all he/ she gets is 4gb with a joke like gpu which may be less powerful and less supported (known, big deal) than a tablet gpu.
If the the 4 gb issue didn't exist,I was looking for a portable real computer which I would likely go with gentoo or Debian.
Soon, companies will go crazy with photo resolutions, screen resolution to push people upgrading their working devices and nothing with 4gb RAM will happily handle it.
As nobody of this level is that stupid and windows developers still use ascii 8.3 naming (habit, tradition), Unix developers won't touch anything UTF in filename, someone really thinks others are dumb.
Hebrew (Mossad) or Arabic (who? Iran uses Persian) is really lame joke.
