We are ready to pay, they aren't selling
If those idiot suits sold annual BBC to global audience who are waiting on line or paying to VPN services just to get iplayer, you would pay far less.

It is fun until you figure Apple and google will be far more evil and spoiled as they notice they don't have a credible rival that users may switch to.
Guy actually had to say Skype can be left running... If you used symbian, you could see how pathetic it is.
Yea, it can run all time...
I always thought server farms were weather proof and one of safest places to be in natural disasters.
If they evacuate, what is the point of getting dedicated hosting instead of PC+ Debian+ UPS+ Fiber combination?
And all makes fun about people living in rural areas stocking food, setting up shelter etc.
For a company who isn't in this "social web" business, the speed of such a daring response is amazing.
Just years ago, a person with very creative and neat ideas for a detergent giant was escorted out of presentation to make sure he never, ever come back with new ideas.
These guys (sanitary, detergent, toothpaste) are amazingly big and conservative.
I used their Kindle thing and trust me, their OS division got everything wrong.
It is like Nokia, didn't change their way of thinking but switched to Android.
Have you seen American operator supplied symbian? That is exactly what Amazon did with Android.
Ubuntu? Thanks to them, I am now really sure that I will never install that piece of junk. Ads, aren't just ads. Wonder why privacy savvy non pirate Android users keep buying "pro" versions of free apps?
What if the unlikely thing happens and win8 takes off?
People and developers love touch interface and resolution independent stuff?
Stuff on market has no touch functionality and absurdly low DPI.
I wouldn't buy anything new until win8 sp1 ships and/or ballmer& gang rightfully fired.
How hard and expensive is it to put a simple touch layer to screen as everyone knows win8 will be touch optimized?
How hard to get rid of 1366x768 not so funny joke resolution?
Ms did a great job with resolution independent UI starting with vista. They also provided touch central API and drivers for years.
Keep sticking stupid stickers, going with Intel gma junk and bundling crap. I won't blame Ms. Nobody should.
There is a market for real, reliable hassle free daily backups but it seems the false sense of usb hard disk security killed it. So nobody dares to R&D a small company thing.
Also, you know they even offload the entire company to google, dropbox etc. I was shocked when I saw a multi million surprise advertising campaign final cut was stored in a dropbox account, shared between 5 users and secured (!) via "PaSWord".
No kidding. Just 5 years ago, these idiots were using an actual bank safe for single copy cassette.
The problem with tape, dvd, bluray and even half protype red laser systems is, companies and users miss steps 2 and 3.
1) backup/verify
And...
2) catalogue it (even pen would work)
3) physically move it to another location and secure it.
Step 3 is why WORM is here to stay.
I see you are a bit sarcastic but seriously a lot of good quality enterprise articles are on the register being wasted by comments which are seriously ignorant.
Problem is, they are all or will soon be in IT sector.
I have even seen an idiot comparing a Z10 enterprise to his desktop gaming machine.
It is like (no, not truck) comparing a 4K A list Hollywood production to your handheld "full HD" camera.
For beginners, these tapes will be stored in underground silos with 5 level biometric security and even armed guards. Such data will never be joked with. We are speaking about trillions of dollars and even human life in some cases. IBM, mainframes are responsible for 80% of data in world, hiding that fact is a PR genius.
I am not a gamer so I had to lookup to make sure I don't confuse things.
Are you telling me electronic arts which was founded because of lack of respect in industry at that time use the legendary "Origin" title for some sort of badly developed drm spyware?
The "origin" I know is this:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_Systems
If they guy go out of business soon or later, it will be because of this, disrespect to the core foundation principles of their company.
First release 1961, contains (kinda made possible by) Knuth's code as student.
When you have time, read
http://www.answers.com/topic/mcp-burroughs-large-systems?curtab=2750_1
Nothing gets more interesting and unique than that. Being able to run on xeon isn't possible without the initial design of it back in 1961.
It worked fine on my PC too (hides under table), that thing is the weirdest thing Ms ever developed. A 98 with 2k parts.
Can't forget my shock when got infected by hybris, a state of evil art virus, cleaned it to see system bragging to restore file to original (infected) form.
Thank God for f-prot dos freeware.
On Android, stock browser or better alternatives like opera, Firefox can do 99% of stuff those "apps of sites" (absurd) can do via html5.
Why do they ship apps? Check permissions circus of their app things, you will understand. A browser will ask if a page requests your location, you will say "yea, right" and leave if they ask your phone number. Why bother? Put blame on w3c and keep spying.
One may be against donating money to poor, or may hide it perfectly so nobody knows.
Check the stuff they use starting with latest, open street maps. Gnu stuff, Apache stuff, independent developers, bsd. Did they donate a freaking CENT to them?
I use open cycle maps personally and will buy offline maps just to donate and I hope one day we can easily contribute from our devices.
For $300K you can get a perfect ext4 win support driver even sparing $20.000 to donate to free software foundation for publicity.
That would mean 80% less "disaster" support calls from customers who would never buy from you again since they blame your brand when that archaic junk "loses" their family photos.
Those who uses fat in 2012 should be investigated for possible under the table deals with Ms.
PS: I am pissed since I have to use fat on my 32gb sd right now.
